If I was going to move Lee anywhere in the order I would move him to second. There is no way you move him down. The further down in the order you go the fewer at bats you get.

That being said, I wouldn't move him anywhere.

This thread is insane.

Yea, let's move our .405 hitter down in the order. THAT will make us win.

If he's moved ANYWHERE, it's 2nd, and even that is slightly stupid.

yea he's not hitting well enough where he is, move him please

Did you not read my post or are you just trying to be a jerk?

And ok, it was a dumb idea.

Whichever major masher Zambrano nets us goes in at #3, Lee goes to #2, and we dominate with the bat.

I'm not so sure Zambrano gets traded. Besides, CC Sabathia is also going to be on the market if the Indians are out of it, and Rich Harden will probably also be on the market.

I don't think the Cubs are ballsy enough to do it, but I'd still move Z for an impact bat, then try and trade off Jones and a reliever and a couple prospects for a starter.

Imagine if we did something like Z for A-Rod then got Harden for EPatt + a pitching prospect(of varying value depending on what the view of Harden's health is from Veal/Gallagher to someone like Adkins).

Soriano

Murton

A-Rod

Lee

Ramirez

Barrett

Pie

DeRosa

Hill,Harden,Lilly,Marquis,Guzman/other young arm

It'd be a gamble on Harden's health, but with that offense...

Sign me up yesterday.

I don't see the Yanks parting with ARod, unless he slumps badly.

No way that Lee should be moved down in the order.

However, I would be in favor of a move to number 2, until or if his power returns. I would bat the Riot leadoff and move Soriano to 3.

With that order Alfonso would quite often have someone on base when he comes up, and would see fastballs, as pitchers would not want to get to ARam with multiple men on base.

I'm not in favor of any move of Lee. He's our best hitter right now. What is with this senseless tinker mentality? We've won 5 of 6, right?

Can we at least wait until Lee's not one of the league's best hitters before suggesting he should be treated like he's in a slump?

I'm also with the leave-it-alone crowd.

But one realistic and mildly intriguing approach to the top of the order would be...

Soriano

Lee

Floyd

Ramirez

That's a heckuva lot of SLG at the top.

Fill in from there as you wish... lots of combinations would work, but unfortunately there's room for only one of Jones, Murton, and Pie (and Murton's basically out because the open spot is CF).

The 3rd spot is usually reserved for the best hitter on the team who also has some pop. Lee's homers have been few and far between, but that won't last. The guy has too much power to not hit homers for extended periods, and I'll guarantee will end up with 30-35 dings before it is said and done.

At the end of the day, I think both Ramirez and Lee will end up with very similar numbers. Both will hit above .300 and will have homers in the 30's. You could interchange either one of them without changing much, but I think Lee is best at 3rd because he also has better wheels then Ramirez.

The premise behind you wanting to move Lee down to 5th is because he's not hitting homeruns. But then you suggest Jacque Jones for the 3rd spot. I just don't get it. Jones has 1 HR and 6 XBH's to Lee's 1 HR and 18 XBH's. It just makes no sense.
