Come on Yahoo...just put him on your fantasy players list so I can pick him up before everyone else....

New players go on waivers. So you can't add him for two days and had better pray your priority is high enough.

So he won't be added until Wed.? My priority is very low, but so is the baseball knowledge of most of my league. I'm trying to remember what happened last year, because Liriano was called up and I got him that same day.

I believe he won't be added until after he pitches, and then he'll go on waivers. That's what I remember happening a few times last year with guys like Garza.

It's actually pretty random when Yahoo adds them to their system. Guys like Homer Bailey and Tim Lincecum have been added for months now. Don't really understand why Hughes never was added...

And Hughes is now out 4-6 weeks per Rotoworld.

Ironically enough I picked him up off waivers in the seventh inning before he got hurt in one league. Unfortunately my team is loaded with DL mates: Thome, Kendrick, Harden, Hernandez and BJ Ryan. I am now in a tough spot. To drop him or not...

Not only that, he was pitching a no-no in the 7th when he was injured and had to leave.

Wow, that's very Cub-like.
Cub-like would have meant getting hurt in his first start after being called up, not his second. :D

I think the gig is up in NY. What has happened is that Ruth finally heard they were tearing down the house he built. So he is taking revenge on the Bronx Bombers.

So, we are back to 2 teams Ruth is still haunting....the Cubs and the Yankees....guess its time to start cheering for my #3 choice....Go Dodgers???

Thats quite a DL squad you've got going. Does your league have DL spots? It be pretty tough to hold on to all those guys if your in the Yahoo league.

Im trying to wait it out for Lincecum, but who knows when those duds in the Giants front office will actually call him up.

Assuming Wade Miller's injury was just a "mystery" to buy the Cubs some time on trying to figure out what to do with him, I am wondering if Hendry might make a call to Brian Cashman.

Brian Sabean isn't interested in anyone under 32.

If he talked to him right after Cashman's press conference last night, he might have fooled him into such a move. But I don't see the Yankees biting on such a worthless pitcher who can't even compete against NL lineups. The Yanks are stearing clear of NL pitchers since feeling they got burned by Pavano, Johnson and Wright, all coming off nice seasons in the NL.

I could see them going after some second rate guys right now, but I can't see them taking Miller. That's especially true since what they need more than anything is a pitcher who can throw 6 innings. They should go get Kevin Millwood.

Mike and the Mad Dog are talking about some controversy with, I believe, the training staff and some sort of marketing strategy. It sounds like they believe the new trainer is involved in some sort of fitness company, and the Yankees are partnering with them on some venture. There's stories of the players not liking the workouts and the guy not having much knowledge about baseball.

I'm not sure if this is related to what Goony mentioned, but the Yankees did fire their strength and conditioning coach today.

Yeah, that's the story I was hearing. Don't know the details, I just kept hearing Mike and the Mad Dog refer to this being something that the marketing people pushed. Apparantly the guy runs some sort of fitness center that has a deal in place with the Yankees, but had no history working with baseball players.

Sounds like a controversy the Cubs could get involved in.
