Ofcourse, he has a personal selfish goal to accomplish. Don't agree with the idea of going after him. No thanks. Both Lee AND Ramirez are having great #'s to start the season.

why, do you not like winning?

He doesnt like cheating.

Cheating or not. I just don't like his attitude.

Give me a 25 man roster full of jackasses that are good at baseball.

No doubt. But most teams, not even the Cubs, can afford 25 men with the salary of Bonds.

I thought you were talking about his attitude?

Right I did. You were the one you brought up winning. All I said was I don't like his attitude.

This has been an odd exchange.

Anything to do with Bonds in HERE is an odd exchange.

But he plays baseball, and his playing of baseball was being discussed.

Just getting in on the long quotes....

It's an IMB! specialty. Just like the Derrek Lee no HR's thread.

I think Bonds has been good for a while.

His season last year was largely ignored for some reason, but he managed to put up a .270/.454/.545 season.

The guy can hit. He's one of the greatest players of all time. As much as he gets sh*t for doing steroids, he's been pretty damn special when he's healthy.

This performance is no suprise.

I think it's a coincidence that he was involved.

I don't think that I'm the common denominator here.

im pretty sure we can ignore someone's attittude if the team wins. whats more important, attitude or winning?

the world's not disney world.

You would really want to cheer for a team full of Bondses? I think you'd change your mind pretty quick about that. I wouldn't have enjoyed the Colts Superbowl win nearly as much if you replaced guys like Dungy and Harrison with Belichick and Terrell Owens.

Not every player has to be my favorite person in the world but Bonds would be too much to ask for, I just couldn't cheer for a guy like that.

I know, I got really tired of all those Patriot fans complaining about how their championships were tainted by the presence of Belicheck.

With other teams, you're right. But with the Cubs, I'll take a World Series title any way I can get it. If that means we have 25 jerks who hate each other on the roster than so be it. I just want a World Series title.

I was clamoring for Bonds during the offseason. He would have been a decent fit for this team. He would definitely have been a better option than Cliff Floyd. Bonds playing in front of Murton is a whole lot more acceptable than Cliff. If you want bad defense in left, who would you prefer? Cliff or Bonds?

Furthermore, if we're winning the whole team can be assholes. I just want to win.

I didnt hear too many Cub fans complaining about some of the A holes on the Cubs in 2003.

Plenty of the Chicago media did though.

Whats wrong with Belichick?

The fact that he slaps photographers and is a womanizer only increases my attitude to him. (Which is pretty neutral over all)

I'm more scared of Tony Dungy's crazy Christian beliefs and how he almost completely forgot about his dead son and continued to coach afterwards. I think many people would have taken a year off or SOMETHING.

But I dont want this to turn into a DUNGY VS. BELICHICK GRUDGE MATCH.

So ignore me.

Most of the working world gets 3 days of bereavement leave, standard. So not many people are taking a YEAR off. But by all means, let's bash Dungy.

People's Christian beliefs are at fault for how they choose to grieve a loved one? That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read. Please.

So all the parents who had kids killed at Va Tech should quit their jobs? People deal with death in different ways. Some people would have to walk away for a while. Some people use work as a coping mechanism. I think it's very rude -- and probably completely inaccurate -- to say that Tony Dungy completely forgot about his son.

Barry Bonds is the Ty Cobb of the 21st century.. the guy might be a jerk, a-hole, etc.. but give him his due, the guy is also one of the five greatest everyday players in the history of this game.

On another note, enough with the "Bonds is on Steroids" crap.. it's never been proven via a test and unless I suddenly moved out of the United States, we are still a country that firmly believes in "Innocent until PROVEN guilty."

The sad truth about our society is everybody wants to accuse someone of something (The three guys at Duke is a great example) and then when it's proven that nothing happened, the same people who screamed the accusations don't apologize with the SAME passion and intensity that they used when falsely accusing them in the first place.

In closing, Tony Dungy is a classy guy who doesn't deserve that cheap shot. Nobody who suffered the death of a son or daughter deserves that.

you got a real story then.. I assume you have the proof (blood and urine samples, etc.) that he did do it. If you do, your one up on Major League Baseball since they don't have ANY proof that Bonds did steroids.

I'm sure Bud Selig would love to see your "proof" being that he and 99% of people in baseball don't want to see Bonds break the record.
