any chance the game day for game 7 gets changed?

It has been announced for some time now. Is there a precedent for that?

probably not. they are more likely to change the tipoff time than the game.

Seriously though, could the NBA playoff schedule be any lamer?

With the incomprehensible punishment of Phoenix for crimes committed by the Spurs, now this, it appears that Mr. Stern would very much like to limit the appeal of this year's NBA playoffs. For that, he's doing an excellent job.

SRO has sold out.

I was tracking one auction for a pair of cheap 300 level tickets during the game. In the third quarter, they were still at $50. By the time it ended about an hour after the game, it sold for $360. Good timing on the seller's part.

I think it has to do with the Palace being occupied on Sunday.

IIRC, there's a WNBA game scheduled.

Gee, what should take priority??

EDIT - Concert Sunday, WNBA Saturday

Yeah, that's not a big surprise. While the playoffs would take priority if scheduling all 3 of those together, the arena already scheduled the other two, and to cancel them or move them would be a big headache for them-so the arena isn't going to want to do that without a big fight.

what doesn't make sense is the NBA not scheduling their entire playoff schedule into every arena ahead of time

That wouldn't work. To beat events like this, the NBA would have had to block out time on every arena months ago. They wouldn't have known who had HCA or who would even be in the playoffs-so they would have to block out just about every day from an arena for a 1 1/2 month period (even if they know the dates the playoffs start, they have no idea if the team will host game 1/2 or games 3/4, and then the second round simply starts when the first round ends, so that is variable as well). The arenas would never allow that much of the year to be blocked out for only the NBA-they make too much money from too many other things.

I hear there's a puppet show that will bump Suns/Spurs to a weekday too.

Over/under on number of victories this postseason:

6.5

Who's number is this?

Mine. Just trying to gauge what people think they'll do. I assumed most think they'll make it out of the 1st, and win a few against Detroit.

This is where we're at right now.

A win tonight puts us at the over.

right I understand the logistics, but the NBA HAS to have some sort of pull with these arenas. What other sport has their playoff schedule dictated by whether or not the Fergie World Tour is in town?

Do you think the NBA minds pushing a game to a weeknight?

where do they get more ad money, Monday night on TNT, or Saturday/Sunday on ABC?

Then the NBA shouldn't have started the Bulls-Pistons series before the first round series were even over. Bulls-Pistons Game 1 was on the same day as Jazz-Rockets Game 7 and had Nets-Raptors gone seven games, they would have played Game 7 the day after Bulls-Pistons Game 1. Or why have two days off in between Games 2 and 3 and Games 3 and 4. If you only have one day in between one of these, Bulls-Pistons Game 6 would have been yesterday with a potential Game 7 tomorrow. Either way, the NBA screwed up and there is no reason there should be 3 full days off inbetween games of a playoff series (which has happened three times in this round).

I honestly think this game is going to be tougher to win than game 7, if it gets that far. The Bulls need to avoid a letdown here and play with the same desperation they did in 4 and 5.

If they get to game 7, the Pistons are really going to be questioning themselves.

Ben Gordon needs to stop stucking. And forcing everything.

i heard several talking heads on both the TV and radio today say that they thought that if the Bulls win tonight, they'll win the series. It's amazing how quickly they go from completely dimissing the Bulls as dead in the water to questioning the Pistons
