Honestly, I haven't even bothered to watch the hockey recaps on sportscenter since the lockout... and I don't miss hockey a bit.

gah, i wish i hadn't fallen asleep in the 3rd period of the van-dal game last night. looks like there is some good hockey on right now though.

The Canucks game was insane last night. 7:00 to 12:30. Luongo with 72 saves.

 

he looked shaky early too. he went nuts (with some help from the posts) in overtime though.

 

Surprisingly good atmosphere in the NYR/ATL game in ATL. I figured that would be boring solely because of the crowd, but it was a good game and the crowd really got into it.

 

TB hung with NJ a little longer than I thought. Parise is a stud though.

 

Detroit and Calgary went just about as I expected...little more chippiness than I would have guessed, but that's always acceptable anyways.

 

Only complaint about the games so far is that there have been too many marginal penalties called, but I can live with that as long as the intensity is there. Great hockey so far.

Truthfully you may have been disgruntled by the lockout. However it took a full year off for the owners to establish a viable salary structure that is fair for every team in the league. Hockey certainly took a short term beating for the lockout. In the long run the league will be much better off though.

 

They still need to fix some other problems(getting tv coverage on a network everyone has, unneeded violence)

Since moving out east many moons ago, the Devils are the closest I've come to becoming a fan of a local team. I think it started when I would play them in NHL '94 because the Blackhawks were just so unfairly good. Several of my friends are Devils fans, but I don't know when the last time any of them went to a game. I've only been to one, when they played the Blackhawks years ago. I'm hoping to get to a playoff game this year, but it will have to be in the second round. Good seats are always available.
