Week 1 isn't quite in the books yet, but week 2 is just a day away. Funny how that happens...

Period 2: 4/9/07 - 4/15/07

NC Cubbies at Galesburg Hand Sanitizers

Urinal Cakes at Raw Dawgs

Harrys Budcrew at Voo Doo Bayou Bashers

Draconian Empire at Buddiga

Severe Tooterstorms at Alamo Stealth

The Eyes of Texas at Lynx

Fuzzy Logistics at Northside Baseball

Dishman's Dishmans at Quakers

This is the week where I face all the pitchers I traded for Ensberg last year. :?

I think my team is up to the task. Your pitching isn't going to be as strong this week, IMO. Doesn't sound like Randy Johnson will be back this week. While I won't expect 7 QS again this week, it's still my strength. Part timer Ethier will be taking a seat this week and replaced with Rocco Baldelli. Not even part timer Jonny Gomes will be taking a seat for Ryan Shealy. Hopefully the Indians and Mariners get their double header in on Monday.

Sad thing is, if I had been matched against abuck instead of Raw in Week 1 I would have won handily and started 1-0 with a win over the two-time defending champions. :(

After bragging that I was high in points and being called milk by Tim, I held on for a win. Alot closer then I thought it would be.

What does that have to do with Week 2? :D

instead you have to settle for getting your ass kicked by the two-time defending champs and starting 0-2. dem's the breaks.

Not having two starts from Oswalt definitely hurts my pitching. I will also only get 6 starts this week, as Carp's injury brought Well's start up by one day and I'm not brave enough to put Weaver in the rotation until I see him have some success.

I like my offense, but Vic's injury is going to hurt me as it doesn't look like they're going to DL him and I have no room on my reserve list to add another catcher. I guess I can drop Mulder and move RJ to the injured reserve list to free up a spot. Or I could just drop Weaver the elder.

And they've already cancelled the double header in Cleveland today.

Wow. 4 days to play with, and they don't get a single game in. That's gonna create some problems down the road.

i don't get why mlb has all these games in cold weather cities to start the year.

Probably because it typically rains a lot in the warm weather cities at this time of the year. :P

It's April showers bring May flowers, not April snow brings May flowers. :D

Teams want to have home games - how would you propose they keep all the cold weather teams on the road for all of April?

well, you obviously couldn't do it all of april, but you could do it do it to some extent for the first week or two.

Due to the playing surface in poor shape and the uncertain forecast, MLB has moved the Indians next series to Miller Park.

I'm sure Dusty has some input on how MLB should deal with the cold weather.

I'm gonna be pissed, if I lose by 3 points or less. Hamels gave up 6 hits, for 6 total bases. 3 of them IF hits. One a bunt single by Carlos Delgado, who has no business bunting. And SP Maine with another IF hit.

I don't think its realistic to plan for two feet of snow in April. There are too many northern teams without domes. They do put in a lot of offdays early in the season. By contrast, the A's played seven games in the first seven days of the season and will make it 8 tonight.

23 point lead already. Yep, I think I've got this one just about sewn up! :D

Jesus Christ is pitching more important than I've ever remembered it being. I looked at the player rankings after week one, and my bats stack up with anyones.... too bad my pitchers were complete crap last week. Hope this one is better.. I seem to do well vs Raw historically, at 7-2...

Just an example of how important pitching now is, Angel Guzman scored 14.25 points today (before overnight adjustments) for 3 innings of middle relief. Too bad he's on my reserve list. :(

57 pt lead, plus whatever points Garland racks up tonight. But I'm one start down from here out.
