Yeah, baby!

Only player to 300 so far under the new rules and I've done it both weeks.

Wowowow, I'm 2-0!
I'm not. :( (I would be 2-0 if we used reverse standings like we did with the Cubs late last year when shooting for the top draft pick.)

I'm sorry you feel the rules are so terrible. This was not my intent in changing the rules but its hard to go back and change now. To me, pitching changes are completely different from position players. Furthermore, I doubt you'll gain much advantage from picking up a bunch of pitchers. Most teams get 6 or 7 starts a week anyway and a start from a scrub is going to hurt you as likely as not. I am disappointed that people used this opportunity to bend the spirit of the league but that is obviously what happened.

I disagree with your perception that there is no advantage, but I'm not going to discuss it anymore beyond this post.

I guess my confusion stems on how this league is run. Most of the leagues I've participated in had a system in place where they discuss rule changes ahead of time.

Now that I know that rules are subject to change without notice or discussion, I'll be more careful to note the rule changes.

And now I'm done talking about it.

I'm pretty sure the lower scoring has more to do with record number of game cancellations and two runs less per game on average than any rule changes actually.

Brian,

I am not sure how you missed the offseason discussion on rule changes. As Al pointed out, they were very clearly stated.

I think that's definitely at least partially the reason. The snowout of the entire Cleveland-Seattle series the first week meant that some people were without some of their players for half the week. And as many postponements as there were yesterday had a major effect on people, especially those who had pitching starts scheduled for those games.

Can you point me to where this discussion took place?

The only thing I see under rules changes is in the very last post that you made, and it's just one little blurb in a long post that is easy to miss.
