I think Miller will provide some insightful analysis but his partner Joe Morgan will spout cliches and nonsense making the game unwatchable.

Miller has had a pretty good history at Miller Field but I'd probably have to say 5IP 3R maybe 6IP. Least our bullpen hasn't had to work much incase he gets into trouble.

Miller will be servicable I think. 6 IP, 4 R, but only 2 ER. Cubs starters have a 2.88 ERA right now, so let's hope Miller feels an obligation and desire to show up Marquis and Lilly.

That's awesome! Wish they could keep that up all season. :D

I don't know why everyone is predicting such low K totals.

Even without his old 95 mph heater, he still has been striking guys out rather regularly.

My prediction:

6 IP, 8 hits, 2 walks, 4 ER, 6Ks.

Actually, that's what I didn't understand either. He was averaging about a K per inning both last September and in the spring, and the Brewers are going to strike out a decent amount. It might not help his run totals too much today, but Miller is likely to strike out more than 1 or 2 if he can go at least 5 innings.

I'm hoping for something similar to what everyone else has done over the last 4 games. But, can the Cubs really shut down the Brewers offense 3 days in a row? I'm scared that Miller will pay the price for the last 2 games. But, I'm hoping for something similar to what Lilly did this week.

Did you calculate the SP ERA yourself, or do you have a place that you can look it up?

That's probably the one stat (coupled with RP team ERA) that I'd like easy access to.

What will the person win who comes the closest?

I am ridicilously pathetic when it comes to these things but here goes

6 IP, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 Ks, 1 HR (given up)

The starter's ERA is actually 3.09.

Dang.... now the second inning isn't helping some of these predictions. I should have asked how long it would be til Rothschild got called out to the mound. Hopefully our hitters are up for the challenge.

It's going to be very difficult for Miller to be successful this year when his straight-as-an-arrow fastball is topping out at 88mph.

Did Wade look as bad as his game line?

Yes. He wasn't wild, but his control was definitely off because he threw a ton of pitches in the middle of the strike zone all of which were crushed by the Brewers.

I'm trying not to be reactionary based on one start (ok, may I am, but I still think I'm right), but Miller isn't going to cut it as a fifth starter. We need to stick Guzman in there until Prior is ready or find some other option.

Miller's stuff wasn't fooling anyone. Maybe he'll be effective against a poor hitting team like the Cardinals, but a team with some serious bats like the Brewers are going to crush him.
