What's worse to you...putting this sarcastic remark in or having someone actually rip on Kerry Wood for his well deserved lambasting for his constant health problems? Just curious

Even a chronically overoptimistic org like the Cubs can't put a positive spin on this situation. Only sorta positive thing to say is Kerry wasn't being counted on for anything this year, so his non-contribution isn't a big deal.

Agreed. That, and at least their idea of "ready" is somewhat quantifiable.

The Cubs have told Kerry Wood they won't bring him back to Chicago until he has demonstrated he's healthy enough to pitch back-to-back days. Which would make his ETA, uh, what? Two weeks? Two months? Or never?

From Jayson Stark

I questioned in the offseason whether the bullpen would be less of an injury risk for Wood because of the fact he would have to pitch back-to-back days.

Chad Fox, anyone?

Let him sit out the entire first half of the season, and then come in down the stretch and help push the Cubs into the post season. He is on the team, and we all know he can't stay healthy why even try to get him to pitch durring the first half. Leave him to strengthen his arm, and then when we need him he can come in and help win 5-6 games.

Well deserved? Some people just get hurt.

Yea. He can't help what has happened. How does he deserve a "lambasting?"

He's never going to be dependable, so let's just cut our losses (if that's possible at this point)

Y? We have nothing to lose with Kerry. Hes making jack squat, and whenever he is "healthy" then Im guessing he will help win a couple games. And if he gets hurt again after that oh well he helped out. Whatever we get out of Kerry Wood this year is a bonus, if we get nothing then big deal we signed him to a low risk high reward contract. No reason at all to let him go. Sit back, and wait for him to get healthy if it happens cool, if not oh well.
