.. And the Pirates are only 100 losses away from a 100 loss season!

And, only three games out of last place!

I still think that the Pirates are going to have a surprising season. Not that they'll take the central mind you, but a .500 season is not out of the realm of possibility. I hope they can do it.

I also hope I can get up to Indianapolis to see Sharpless throw once this month before he heads to Pittsburgh.

I like what Pittsburgh did this offseason. Nady and LaRoche are a nice complement to Bay. Get Freddy Sanchez healthy and find someone else who is respectable at the top of the order, and it's not a bad team at all.

How much damage can Bay really do in a season with solid support behind him in the order? We shall soon see.

My predictions have Cincinnati finishing last.

I'm happy for the Pirates. It's not fun to see ANY team lose for this long (okay, I wouldn't mind the Yankees hitting a 20 year slide, but otherwise...)

I'll also have fun following Andrew McCutchen this year at AA and beyond

I'd love to have the Pirates and Brewers near the top and the Cardinals and Astros at the bottom the whole year.

Ill be surprised if he's still there in five weeks.

I think Pittsburgh could inch to a fourth or a third-place finish this season with some breaks.

That said, I picked them fifth. I have no guts.

WTG Jake!

Normally I can't root for the other teams in the Cubs division, but I'd like to see the Pirates be competitive again.

I'm happy for you, Jake. Even if something bad happens and they finish in the cellar again, they appear to be a team on the rise.

Finally, we can say that. What's great is that Bay & LaRoche are not carrying the team by themselves, that others are helping out, specifically Nady & Paulino. If those two hit all year (Paulino did last year, and Nady did as a Bucco), we could be dangerous.

Don't forget about the 2006 NL batting champion, Freddy Sanchez. I know he's on the DL right now, but he's not going to be there for long, is he?

I support this opinion.

I don't. Because the Pirates and Brewers always give us a hard time. I'd rather face the Cardinals or Houston, rather then Brewers or Pirates on a up year.

depends on how Duffy does in CF. Doesn't seem like a great move to jump him to Indianapolis at this point. He seems like the kind of player who should go from AA to the majors.

I don't think Duffy, or anyone, is a factor. This kid is going to be a very good ball player. Some think he's ready now. If Duffy is hitting, look for McCutchen to move to Right.

And Nady?
