I've always disliked the blue uniforms. I just think they're tacky and in recent years they seem to have been worn more than the grey uniforms. They were supposed to be alternate uniforms! I would definitely like to see some changes in the grey uni's, but I don't want to see the blue uniforms back. The uniforms should be one color, not blue shirts with a different colored pant. Just looked tacky to me.

I'm 24 and I'm indifferent when it comes to the blue jersey. If we were talkin about the awesome dark (navy) blues that they wore in ST a couple years ago, I'd be all over those.

I like the idea of having blue road jerseys, just not the ones they currently wear. They grays are so ugly. If the blue ones were made like the gray ones, they would be better.

The blue alternates reminded me enough of the blue uni's from the 80s that I liked them.

Just out of curiosity, do you hold this belief for just baseball or is that for all sports?

EDIT: And I love the blue uniforms.

I would like them if they featured the details of those shirts. The latest edition had no trim whatsoever, and bland logos (the walking Cub and NL crest don't cut it.)

Sometimes simple is GOOD!!!!! I like the Alt. Blues, personally. I'm not a big fan of the greys either. Maybe we should go back to the blue pinstripes on blue! Now those were classy!

No. I don't think so. I just always felt that the blue jerseys looked out of place when matched with either the pin-striped pants or the road greys. I never felt that it looked proffesional enough.

I always liked the blue jerseys alot more than the greys. If it was up to me I'd get rid of the greys and wear the blues on the road and just wear the white pinstripes at home. BTW I'm younger than 25.

The Yankee uniforms are "GOOD" simple. The Cubs' alternate jerseys screamed "CHEAP" simple.

I wondered if the "policy" of the starting pitcher getting to choose the jersey the team wears for the day would continue with Lou at the helm. I didn't know if this was a Dusty thing or not. I guess it doesn't matter now though.

I noticed the past few seasons Big Z always chose the blue jerseys over the white jerseys. Even when you would see Z in the dugout on his non-pitching days, when the rest of the team was wearing the white jerseys he would be wearing a dark sweatshirt or something else. It was very rare to see him wearing the white jerseys. Then this spring I noticed Z wearing the white jerseys on his pitching days.

Anyone know, does Z have a phobia of the white jersey?

Blue blue blue. We bleed cubby BLUE, not cubby road grey. Pinstripes should be the standard at home, and I don't care if blues are only the alt used once or twice every week or two, but they belong here. I don't understand how so many of you could dislike the blue uniform to the point of complete banishment.

I guess I think the greys have enough blue. The hat's always going to be blue no matter what, the undershirt (plus the sleeves) is blue, plus you have the blue of the "Chicago." I definitely wouldn't mind some more blue trim, but the idea of solid colors dominating the pants or jersey just strikes me as looking so hack-y.

And the term "Cubbie/Cubby blue" is awful.

It did not originate with Dusty - I remember dubbing the blue jersey "Lieber blue" because Jon Lieber was pretty much the only Cubs pitcher who wore it at that time. Don Baylor was the manager then.

Wasn't Leiber with us under Riggleman?

Only one year, though. Most of Lieber's time with us was during the Baylor era. I couldn't honestly tell you if he was picking his own jersey color during the 99 season with Riggs, though.
