I wouldn't mind some more at bats this week. 106 so far this week. That has to be the lowest AB total in the league by far. I'm almost 50 at bats behind my opponent.

The weather in Cleveland has wrecked havoc with my offense the past couple of days. No Marte, no Ichiro yesterday or today.

 

They really blew it when they called the game when they did yesterday (only one strike away from being an official game). After all they waited through to play the game, when it gets that close you simply have to finish that at-bat at least and give every chance to get an official game in rather than having it all count for nothing. I really think the umpires dropped the ball on that one big time.

I have to laugh at myself. After Contrares is shelled, and Buehrle injured I developed a huge mistrust of White Sox pitching. So, I benched Vazquez...now he has a shutout in the seventh :wall:

 

Granderson and Dunn had decent preformances today.

I kind of suspect that the umpires may have been sending a message to the Indians' management the way they handled it. They may have thought the game should have been called up front, but I believe that until the first pitch is thrown, it is the home team's management's call, not the umpires.

Good thing for Raw (and bad for me) that he reserved Patterson after his earlier start this week. He's in negative territory again, down 3-0 after 1 inning.

my 15 game winning streak is in serious jeopardy.

 

i had to bench one of my three starters today, so benched smoltz (who pitched very well) and left sheets and myers out there (who both sucked).

I'm encouraged by the offense moving towards week 2. After a pitiful week, the offense has put up 32 points so far tonight.

CBS Sportsline "LIVE" scoring has been pretty dead at times this year. Hopefully, the situation will improve.

 

Millwood had a pretty good showing, so I may still pull this one out. I would feel much better if I had left Vasquez in instead of Meche.

 

Thomas had a grand-slam today.

 

I think I am going to like my team once my pitching is sorted out.

 

I think there will be several of you that will have regreted not taking me up earlier when I tried to dump Dukes.

CBS is really slow today. It's about 5AM local time, and the score board still has the Texas/Boston game in the 2nd inning.

Finally, CBS scoreboard is accurate.

 

 

Meche has 0 points, while Vazquez (who is benched) earned 30 :x If I lose, I will definitely think it was due to poor management and not because of my team. This seven start limit requires a little more thought for us managers who do not have surefire aces.

 

Note: It would be nice if the Pitcher Starts Remaining on the scoreboard was accurate. I almost forgot how many starts I had this week, so I had to check my stats page.

 

I still have the lead, but Tampa and KC better have slugfests today. Either that, or the cold better force the cancelation of the games.
