Was it just bad luck on Wood's part, or was this the kind of outing that puts him on the DL to start the year?

the former

Good to hear it.

Nice play by DeRosa.

Has DeRosa seen any time at short this spring? I've been nothing but impressed with his defense at 2nd, and from what it sounds like he's been real good at third.

3B is his best position. Don't remember him at SS this ST.

He can play it though. His range might be a little suspect in fulltime SS duty, IMO.

Woody didn't look too bad, he just got the ball up and Socia got a little lucky with the hit and runs.

I thought Lilly got pretty lucky today, too many pitches and too many fly balls. At least he didn't walk too many.

Another good bunt. Is it just me or have the Cubs been much better this spring at laying down bunts and running the bases? Just further proof that Dusty is/was incompetent

I don't know how I feel about bunting when behind. It's certainly not the smart percentage play.

I know how I feel about it and it is not good. Especially late in the game and down by more than one. And a guy like Pie on.

But it is only ST, so I don't really care.

I know I don't like it, but the only reason I was torn was that Lou might have just been trying to see how Cedeno handles it. I guess that's the stuff spring training is for.

I think Floyd might have gotten away with that one.
