I'm not sure if I ever posted this here.

It doesn't have much relevence to present moment...but Curtis Granderson was at my condo last year after one of the Tigers games @ Wrigley and he said that Prior was the worst/easiest pitcher he faced all year. Basically like an 86 MPH fastball right down the middle...BP.

Fastball is gving up solid hits.

Is he throwing anything else for strikes? If he doesn't get any off speed or breaking pitches over the fastball is gonna get killed.

He was pretty much just throwing fastballs in the first. I only saw a few off speed pitches.

I wouldn't even call them fastballs.

His control is the worst part. Too many balls high and away.

his mechanics are messed up, he dosent look the same as he did in 03 and 04

Could they bring in his USC pitching coach or something, see if he notices something? I'm just grasping at straws, but Rothschild doesn't seem to get through to him.

Prior had to get off the juice when they started testing..This is prolly how hard he throws naturally without it.

So you're saying he was on the juice in HS & college? Come on

If he's holding back, the Cubs would be wise to invest in a psychaiatrist.

I think they should do that anyway...He just doesn't seem to have any heart anymore.

They should just stick him down in AA, let him carry his own bags for a while. Make him ride the long bus rides. That might change his mind. :D

Certainly a month or two in AAA is in the cards.

I guess I can understand the reticence to let loose...but if he doesn't, it won't matter because he won't be an MLB pitcher. So the outcome is the same if he gets hurt or holds back.

Get Tom House on the horn.

Thanks for posting this. I can't believe more people are drilling down into this. To me, it's quite obvious. Wasn't his pitching coach, Tom House busted for juice?

Two things I like so far about today. They involve my two favorite cubbies (outside of Lee and Zambrano):

1) Theriot with ANOTHER hit and ANOTHER SB. It's his 5th SB in 5 attemps this Spring.

2) Murton showing off the arm. The better D he plays, the more he'll start over Floyd.
