Nice hit...but for those of us on XM...I hate this guy blabing about how the cubs just HAVE to have prior have a great season to do anything this year.... :evil:

 

No kidding. We'll be fine without him, but if he can be solid we'll be just that much better. Talked about Prior having a great year back in 02, but later corrected himself with 03.

Ugh. Hearing Plesac ramble makes my blood boil.

What's going on here? Is Brenly on the way out? Why is Plesac doing all the ST games?

 

They added some spring training games (to the cable channel) late in the process, and Brenly already had family commitments that he didn't want to get out of. Brenly will broadcast all the games when the regular season starts, but only some of them during ST.

If I ever get pulled over by a cop using a radar gun, I'm bringing these game threads as evidence. Why's it so hard to get a radar gun that actually works?

 

A lot depends on where the gun is trying to measure the speed. A lot of confusion, it seems, comes from comparing between guns that measure velocity out of hand and guns that measure velocity closer to the plate. There's a decent difference.

I think the gun is messed up. Now it says Maddux is throwing 87-88.

 

Maybe they "turn it up" for Prior and they forgot to turn it back down for the padres.

 

If that were the case, Prior wouldn't have been hitting 79mph in the first inning.

So Prior's change is working but his curve isn't? Is that right?

 

Ive seen him throw it once. It was bad because he slinged it across his body. Other than that havent seen it enough to say it isnt working. I Could of missed a few pitches though.

I'm guessing we were behind a little, since some of the game thread posts were a couple seconds ahead of what I was seeing. And they just fast forwarded the feed or something.

I think sumone needs to go out there and tell Mark they scored with his wife, maybe then well see the pitches kick up to 95-96 MPH
