The Cubs will be traveling to Electric Park in Tucson, Arizona to face off against their rivals, the Chicago White Sox.

This game will be televised on WGN TV... and unfortunately, it is a White Sox telecast... Which means Hawk :x & DJ :-& will be commentating.

May that site live on.

Yeah, get ready for a quiet game as you turn down the volume / mute.

Javier Vazquez will be taking on Angel Guzman, who is fighting for the 5th spot in the Chicago Cubs starting rotation.

In other news... Mark Prior and the Iowa Cubs will face off against the Albuquerque Isotopes later that day at 7:05 PM Central. You are welcomed to discuss that game here as the Cubs/Sox game will be over by that time.

Match-ups (Chicago Cubs) Vs. Javier Vazquez

Some notables:

Lee is 11 for 41 (.366) with 3 HR and 11 RBI

Ward is 8 for 21 (.381)

Ramirez is 6 for 18 a HR and a TRIPLE. BY RAMIREZ.

Izzy is 5 for 15... (.333)

Match-ups (Chicago White Sox) Vs. Angel Guzman

No current White Sox player has faced Angel Guzman in the regular season.

As you can see, potential Cubs 5th starters will pitch on the same day. I will say it now, if Angel Guzman has noticeably better day than Mark Prior, I will be convinced that Angel should be in the rotation and Prior shouldn't. Although, if they both end up having alright days, or if Prior has a great day and Angel doesn't, my opinion will still stand strong. I believe that Prior should be in the rotation if he is healthy.

And that is it.

LETS GO CUBS!!

Good grief. The Cubs own Vazquez.

I hope the Cubs completely annihilate the White Sox. Listening to Hawk and DJ when the Sox are losing is hilarious.

I dont find silence is hilarious.

Seriously. I dont. Whenever they are losing, the game can go minutes without either of them saying anything.

Lou should know what a big rivalry this is.. even though its ST..

He better include Lee, Ward, Ramirez, DeRosa, and I guess Izzy. I dont want to lose this one.

I'm with you, I want to see the real Cubs on tv. The Cubs can play with the DH tomorrow so we may see a line up very similar to today's (if not the same lineup).

Are you serious? I mean, wanting the regulars to play because they're on TV is fine, but who cares what happens in this game? The fact that it's against the Sox doesn't make it anything more than a meaningless ST game. I just don't get it. Don't mean to jump on you, it's just a pet peeve of mine after hearing all these callers on the radio after the last game with them.

I also think that any Sox fan who got any sense of satisfaction from winning the first meeting is severely lacking in IQ points.

Completely agree. This is not a rivalry, or is it a meaningful game. The goal should be winning the WS. Spring training is about getting prepared to make a run at the WS. The outcome of this game has no baring on that whatsoever.

Amen.

I'd be ticked off beyond belief if the Cubs put winning a spring training game vs anyone above preparing players for the season. Fortunately, I think Lou has the end game in mind.

I know Lou has the end game in mind. While I'd love to win this game, it matters little in the grand scheme of things.

I prefer to hedge my puts. I put 20 grand against them. It offsets the amount of joy I'll get from a victory, but will make up for the pain that would be caused by the loss.

Please tell me that this is on WGN radio as well, so I can mute Hawk.

If the Sox are losing, listening to DJ and Hawk is great. If the Sox are winning, not so much.

I agree. Nothing more gives me pleasure then hearing Hawk sigh and moan when the Sox are doing bad.
