This has to be a mistake, I was lead to believe that DirecTV was set to buy the world, cure cancer and further develop human cloning all while providing top level satellite television.

Boy was I wrong!

Off to order my EI package!

Major League Baseball announced today that iN DEMAND has entered into a seven-year agreement in principle to carry the MLB EXTRA INNINGS subscription package of out-of-market games and will distribute the MLB Channel, which is scheduled to launch in January 2009.

The MLB EXTRA INNINGS subscription package of out-of-market games is currently available to DIRECTV subscribers. iN DEMAND owners Comcast, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable have agreed to carry the package, effective immediately. iN DEMAND also will offer to make the MLB Extra Innings subscription package available to other cable companies across the U.S. Like all distributors of MLB Extra Innings, these cable operators would also be required to carry the MLB Channel once it is launched.

The MLB Channel will be the first and only network dedicated to providing baseball programming to MLB fans 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a year-round basis. Major League Baseball's partnerships with DIRECTV and iN DEMAND mean the MLB Channel is expected to launch in 40 million homes.

"Our chief goal throughout the process was to ensure that fans would have access to as many baseball games and as much baseball coverage as possible," said MLB President and Chief Operating Officer Bob DuPuy. "With this agreement, the MLB Channel will launch with an unprecedented platform. We are pleased with the launch of the MLB Channel to so many homes coupled with our agreement to extend the distribution of MLB Extra Innings with iN DEMAND."

Sounds like the little cable companies will have an opportunity to air it, so I would say yes. I can't order it yet. Maybe tomorrow?

Ya, I'm blacked out too about 100 miles south of you. What a load of dog crap.

I tried some... "things" to try and get it to work, but it didn't take.

I just don't understand how they can do this actually. I mean, you are paying for a product that allows you to watch ALL baseball games.

Abe,

You won't get Rangers or Astros based on black-out rules. The others you should get. I've had to reset my receiver before as well. Not sure why.

Yeah, I don't think I watched a single Rangers game last season, except for the Opening Day game I went to in Arlington. Didn't watch FSSW too much, because I think they showed the Astros nearly exclusively. Am I wrong?

Did get to see some of the Rangers/A's game the other night, though. Naturally, I have a slight interest in them this year with Sammy on the team as well as McCarthy.

Plus, I'm a Loften fan and like their lineup.

So I've had ExtraInnings the past 2 years with my digital cable company. This year they aren't offering it. So does this mean that they are likely going to have it back after this?

Sorry for being ignorant on the situation.

charter anyone?

Do you have any Maker's Mark? How about Basil Hayden's, Baker's, or Bookers? Sorry, I'm a whiskey snob.

as far as bourbons go, woodford reserve is my fave.

Woodford is quality stuff. Ever try Bulleit? That is a sleeper.

Here in the San Antonio area FSSW is 90% Astros coverage and 10% Rangers.
