For those with Dish could a person just get their sports package (all the local sports channels). You are not getting all the games but you are getting a bunch of them.

Actually, no you wouldn't because they black out all the out of area games. The only games you'll get are the ones on the local FSN or Comcast sports station or whoever happens to carry your local games. I've fought that battle once before and was served a crushing defeat. Bunch of BS if you ask me.

Dish folks shouldn't be surprised. This is the same company that aired ads with Tiki Barber touting all the football available on their service while completely ignoring the fact that Sunday Ticket was a DirecTV exclusive.

What is your problem? what good does it do you to attack other companies just because you are a DirecTV fanboy. You really need to get over your zealous unhealthy enthusiasm for what basicly is a bottom feeding money grabing craphole of a company.

Well as of this morning, Charter here in St. Louis now shows channels 875-888 as MLB Extra Innings/NHL Center Ice, and the channel guide shows games for tonight. We will see.

It had that last night as well. What's the cost for the season? Or is it billed by the month?

I think the "early bird" price is $160, which they will spread out over four months.

But again, other than the channel guide, I have no confirmation that Charter is offering the package. Can't get a straight answer on the phone.

Wow, that's pretty steep. Basically 30 bucks a month. I'll still pay it though, assuming it's an option.

i don't think it's a bad deal at all....just think of all the extra games you're going to wind up watching with the package on top of all the Cubs games you'll watch....it's worth it.

It's finally here, also. I have the free preview thing going on, but I haven't ordered the package yet. After the game I'll put my order in.

I went through the schedule and figured out that WITHOUT Extra Innings, I would get about 85-90 games. That includes WGN games, national TV and the Cards games that will be on FSM here.

So I figure for the remaining 70 games, it's about $2 per, maybe a bit more. I have no problem with the price.

Oh, and the InDemand website says the free preview is running now until the 15th.

It's steep if you only watch Cub games. I watch every game I can, which makes the price pennies per game.

I tried to get ahold of charter via their web chat...still nothing but bs....although the listing of the MLB-EI on the channel guide is encouraging...yesterday it was just hockey....if anyone in Charter country gets a straight answer it'd be great to hear about it.

Just gave it another shot with Charter via phone.

Another idiot. Started by saying "we are not carrying Extra Innings because Directv signed an exclusive contract."

Then I hung up. The incompetence is startling.

Its amazing to me...I've taken to asking where they are speaking from...generally I get San Paulo Brazil...obviously the mecca of knowledge re US cable packages.

Here in the Chicago suburbs, we have it free 'til the 15th on Comcast, and I'm thinking of ordering it. I'm enjoying the Boston-Texas game more than I thought. It's about $159 I think. Not sure how much time I'll have to watch it. Probably would get my money's worth I guess.

I've been watching baseball non-stop since this afternoon. I'm definitely getting my money's worth!

I know, I know... me too... baseball all day long, it's great. I'll be in bad shape on the 16th if I don't order it. I'm diggin' all these former Cubbies in the Texas/Boston game.

You may think it sucks, thanks for the input. Excuse me while I go order my baseball package. Enjoy taking you stance.

Selfishness is becoming the norm in this country. It's quite sad.

One day when your car is sitting on the side of the road all broken down, someone will drive by without stopping and say, "should have bought a car that runs. Enjoy your walk, dude."

Same attitude. Different day.

I'd like to point out the fact that I'm a fan of a company that actually processes customer orders for MLBEI.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled fight with cable customer service.

And what I'd like to point out is that you've advocated since day 1 that ONLY DirecTV have it and had no problem with, and actually were happy about the first deal proposed which cut out a LARGE percentage of fans, including many people on this board...BTW, I don't think you'll ever see a post on here praising Charter...their customer service is bad, but DirecTV customer service sucks too.....I've always just wanted the product out there for everyone....and I'm happy its getting closer to that, even if I get personally screwed by having a bad cable company...I'm glad the product it out there for others...

I think it depends on the people who run the cable company, DirecTV, Dish. I've had really bad customer service with past providers and I currently have excellent customer service. They should all have excellent customer service since they have to fight over consumers using their product. Weird that I am reading about so much poor service.
