I have MLB through DirecTV. I love the new feature they have added this year. They have a Game Mix channel which shows up to 8 games. But also, when watching an individual game, the box score is just a click on the remote away. You can also access standings, scores, and league leaders.

Its pretty cool.

Agreed. I'm in love.

Cable and MLB are still talking. The latest update I heard was that as of 4:25 PM, the two sides were still trying to work out a deal.

Anyone else optimistic? The original deadline was Saturday night. You'd think that talks would have broken off by now if they weren't close.

I think a deal is imminent, and that they're just working out the last details.

But then again, maybe I'm naive.

I think we see Extra Innings on cable.

We will continue discussions until we reach a deal or it becomes apparent we cannot.

-- Bob DuPuy, MLB President / COO

The self-imposed deadline set by the two sides has reportedly been removed and they continue to talk.

Folks, by the looks of it.... we're going to have Extra Innings on cable. That last sentence is just speculation on my part, but like I said earlier: there is no way they would still be talking if things were not close.

Face-to-face meetings are still occurring with the parties as of late Tuesday regarding a deal to keep MLB Extra Innings on cable and DISH Networks.

“We were hoping and expecting that there could be a deal done the last couple of days. Both sides are involved, and they’re continuing to talk,” In Demand spokeswoman Ellen Cooper said.

As mentioned on The Biz of Baseball, the time in which it would take to get Extra Innings back up and running on cable, and presumably DISH would be nominal. As further reported:

If an agreement is reached, In Demand said it is prepared to supply the games to cable operators immediately. “We would be ready, technically within an hour,” Cooper said.

That's certainly good to hear.

Once In Demand has it I would guess DishNetwork would as well, since thats where Dish gets all of thier pay-per-view stuff. I really hope this gets done soon, it would make my year.

It's driving me nuts having to watch MLB.tv on my laptop. I'd much rather be able to watch these games on MLB EI. I hope something gets done soon.

The game mix channel 732 is a thing of beauty!

It's too wonderful. Sometimes it's hard for me to choose which game to watch.

I'm watching LAD vs. Mil on my laptop and Sea vs. Oak on my desktop. I didn't know I could launch MLB.TV on all of my computers.

Pong has become quite annoying, and I've only had MLB.TV for 2 days. The deer commercial that starts up each time I switch games is even more annoying.

Oh how I long to hear that annoying and repetitive music MLB EI plays between innings, and before and after games.

Yes, it's wonderful. But I've heard after the trial period it will cost an extra $30 to keep. I may have to spring for that extra $30.

Did they send you a paper about it? I received a letter about my subscription that included a paper with information about the "upgrade" package. Not sure if I'll get it or not, but what's another $30 when you're paying what the initial package costs?

PS- Sorry to all of you who do not have MLBEI

I thought the Strike zone channel was the only thing that would be extra.

Have you tried the in-game stats and box score feature when watching a specific game yet?

I haven't...but my reciever in my office is an old one and isn't compatible for that feature. The one in my living room is, but usually my wife is watching on that TV.

I want to throw things everytime I hear that stupid pong noise over and over again. What a dumb idea. I have to say, I'm not liking the MLB.tv experience at all, and there's no way I'm going to pay even more money for the premium thing.

I used to do this "manually" with one game on the tube via DirecTV, and three from mlb.tv on a bank of computer monitors to my right.

This is much better.

I'm really liking this whole DirecTV thingy too. The MIX is awesome, as you all said. I wonder if you can purchase the Fox Sports channels seperately? Do you have to get the whole deal? I'd LOVE to have CSNC and watch all the Chicago goodies before and after games.

You have to get them all. It's $12 more a month. I haven't yet gotten them, but I think about it all the time.
