I don't see the AFC having as huge an advantage as the media will allow us to believe. Neither of the teams playing are better than the Bears.

Yeah, I'm in scout mode now!

AFC has been far superior to the NFC over the course of the year. Doesn't mean the Bears can't beat either of these teams, but as a whole the AFC has been better.

That's a typical Patriot bounce of the ball.

Not a typical bounce of the ball, The Clutch Tom Brady willed the ball out of the Colts' hand. Plus, Peyton choked there, didn't you see?

the average afc team was better than the average nfc team, but i dont think there is a big difference when u look at the top teams.

Agreed, the AFC has been much better than the NFC, but that advantage is equalized in the Super Bowl. It's not the entire AFC playing the entire NFC anymore, it's 1 team playing 1 team, and the differences between the 3 teams left are slim.

I think the Bears were the only NFC team that wouldn't have been a clear underdog in the Super Bowl.

That was my point. The AFC is much better top to bottom, but the difference between these teams is marginal.

Agreed. But that's not the Bears fault. I've heard all year that the NFC had no chance vs. SD, NE, Baltimore, or Indy.....including the Bears. That has never been true.

I think the media would have played up the "magical" year for the Saints and they wouldn't have been a huge underdog. But otherwise I agree.

I agree, the upper end of the conferences are never very far apart in terms of competitiveness.

That holding penalty is going to derail the drive. ARGH.

Indy's going to have to settle for a FG attmept.

And Vinatieri hit it! 7-3 Pats. Great effort by Addai on the previous run, too.

The Patriots DB's can't make great plays like that all day-if the Colts keep exploiting those matchups and Manning puts it on the money like that, the Colts will likely catch 1 or 2 of them before the day is out.

Despite the lack of overall production, the Colt offense has looked quite good today. Peyton's been very accurate.

I don't remember the fourth, but three of Manning's incompletions were good throws (the one Addai dropped and then the two good defensive plays on the deep passes to Wayne and Harrison). He's played better today so far.
