Dammit i wish i could watch comcast or local channels. hows the celebration in the city for those watching?

Lots of honking going on. At least up by my place just north of Wrigley. I'm sure the party will really get going shortly.

I'm as much a Bear fan as I am a Cub fan, but I would still trade it all in for a Cub World Series.

Not me. I want both :D

Well, we knew that already...Ditka picked the Bears on ESPN, and it was so.

Bears will always have '85. With the Cubs, we're left with Bartman.

That said, GO BEARS!!!

I was 9 years old in 85. I don't remember it as well, and I wasn't a big football fan then. I want the Bears to win.

Here's a neat quote from CNNsi:

Gould, a former high school soccer player who was drafted out of Penn State, looks like the new Adam Vinatieri. The second-year vet kicked three field goals in the first half -- two short and one long -- and kept the Saints pinned back in terrible field position with twisting, angled kickoffs.

Eh I didnt really know what was going on in 85 ( i was 10 months old), and I think i like the bears better. ill just take both. i do like football better though.

As soon as Reggie Bush looked back and taunted Brian Urlacher on his 88-yard scoring pass from Brees in the third quarter, you knew the spirit of George Halas would somehow make the Saints pay. Bush's behavior will probably someday help him sell shoes or jerseys, but it felt way over the top on Sunday.

I'm surprised nobody has started a Super Bowl thread yet.

No opponent yet...

I just figured with the excitement around the Bears in the Super Bowl somebody would have started one anyway.

Damn, I'm old. I still have Super Bowl XX on tape (I was 14 years old at the time) as well as the Cubs clinching in '84 and and '89.

I guess the closer you are to realizing your own mortality, the more you panic/realize that the Cubs may never win a World Series in your lifetime.

I thought Turner called a crappy game, until it mattered. I guess you can say clutch coaching.

With the Bears only up 9-0, and unable to take advantage of 3 short fields, he pounded the ball over and over against a Saints D that had been on the field alot. After the safety, he opened up the passing game when his defense had been on the field alot.

Thomas Jones is a monster. I think the Bears should bench him and start Benson in the Superbowl.....then bring him in and watch him take his frustration out on their opponent. Something about Ced getting increased carries brings out the best in TJ.

Quote of the year. Just a tip for Bush... you don't want to make Brian Urlacher mad. You won't like him when he's mad.

Grossman's strength is deep slants with both Clark and the WRs, which wasn't used enough, the passing game was designed poorly today, IMO.

Definitely a bad gameplan, but I wanted Fred Thomas picked on all day. Didn't try it enough, other than deep until the "Berrian drive". I don't know why they don't call more seams and slants. 3 times in the 2 playoff games, Rex got 30 yard completions to the slot/TE.

Wally-eye just voiced his displeasure with Bush in the post game.
