Bush and Duece have done nothing on grass fields this year, Bush has a 2.6 average and duece a 3.6

on artifical turf it jumps to 4.2 for Bush and 4.7 for Duece

It's DEUCE. Jesus man, if you're going to lay some smack at least spell the guys name right.

Then stop typing y'all.

"Y'all" is in the dictionary. "Duece" is not.

without a good running game, Brees dosent have nowhere near the season he did this year.

Against the Ravens defense, Deuce and Reggie had a crappy day and combined for only 27 yards rushing. YET, Drew Brees threw for 383 yards and 3td's. That hardly sounds like the running game opened up the pass in that game.

and they still lost the game, you can throw for 500 yards if you lose the game, it dosent matter.

Winning and losing wasn't your original point. Your point was that without Bush and Deuce they have no offense. I just proved you wrong. 27 yards rushing, yet Brees throws for nearly 400 yards with 3td's against the vaunted Ravens defense.

Well that's just not true. I don't understand why Boosh and Twuce are getting all the press, when the NO running game hasn't been all that good. They've relied on the passing game all year.

the point still stands and pointing out i used the wrong spelling dosent change the fact that they are very ordinary outside of New Orleans

Saints were 6-2 on the road this year and both Bush and Deuce averaged 3.9ypc on the road.

2 of those wins came in domes (atlanta-Dallas)

3 Wins came against Green Bay, Tampa Bay and Cleveland

1 win came against the Giants on field turf

1 game against philly on grass, by far their best performance on grass

ok you proved me wrong but the Ravens still beat New Orleans. If you throw for nearly 400 yards and still lose that says a lot

the ravens also play on field turf

For those paying attention to weather conditions NOAA (THE weather authority. Weather Channel and others get their info from them as I recall) has Chicago with a 60% chance of precipitation and a high of 29.

NOAA is the most reliable, the weather channel will say there is a slight chance of storms when a squall line is moving into the area

The Saints are the team I worry about most. Brees is a very good quarterback. The Saints have a lot of different offensive weapons. The Bears defense doesn't put enough pressure on the quarterback, which is going to give the Saints a lot of opportunities to put points on the board.

One thing that gets overlooked a bit, is the fact that the Saints are a much better team at this point in the season than they were at the beginning of the season. The Bears are not as good as they were at the beginning of the season.

Home field and some Bear weather is what I'll be pulling for this weekend. I think that might give us the advantage we need to pull off this game. We need to force a few turnovers at critical times. If it comes down to the kicking game, I like the Bears chances even more.

Last weeks game nearly gave me cardiac arrest. I'd really like a comfortable lead and pure dominance this week, but I'm not expecting it.

Are you kidding me? Overlooked? That's been the storyline all week. The Saints are somehow playing the best, even though, as others have pointed out, they were 5-5 in their last 10, and lost to a bad Washington in a still meaningful week 15 contest. Even if you don't want to give the Bears any benefit of the doubt for winning despite playing prevent for the past month, New England has been at least as good as New Orleans, if not better, down the stretch.

The Saints were 10-6 this season. 4-4 in the 2nd half. They're hardly rolling through the league.

Really? What do you base that on? Here's what I look at:

First 6 games:

Bears: 6-0

Saints: 5-1

Last 10 games:

Bears: 7-3

Saints: 5-5

It looks to me that the Saints have struggled some, and it hasn't been reported either. When I look at the Saints lately, I see a real bad loss at home against Washington when they had the #1 seed as a possibility, and I see 2 losses in a row to Pittsburgh & Cincy, 2 non-playoff clubs.

I do agree they pose problems for us and have a real good shot at this game though. But look at their actual performance lately---they're no juggernaut.

Please, oh please, be collecting all this stuff and putting it on the bulletin board, Lovie.

Rex plays his best when he knows everyone thinks he can't get it done. I hope that's the message he's getting this week, too.

Honestly, throughout the year we've put in our bad games right when people started saying we were good.

BEARS (-2.5) over Saints

No, but seriously ... EVERYONE loves the Saints in this game. I can't remember a bigger bandwagon pick in all the years I've been writing this column. Even if you check any gambling site that gives you the percentage of money being wagered on each team, the Saints are getting 68-75 percent of the action. Everyone has them pencilled in for Miami. That gives me the willies. And since the other two "makes me nervous" components of this game (the Rex Grossman Roller Coaster versus a warm weather dome team playing in 30-degree weather) cancel each other out, well ...

The Pick: Chicago 27, New Orleans 20

The Score has been reporting that Rick DiMaio of Fox Chicago is forecasting a 100% chance that 2-3 inches of snow will fall on Sunday, either before or during the game.

Basically, he's guaranteeing snow.

It would make for good TV, not sure how it will affect the game.

Just saw that. The dude on Cold Pizza just said the Bears are the most underrated 14-3 team hes ever seen. I agree. Meanwhile, Skip Bayless picked the Saints. No surprise there. Its gonna be such a gratifying feeling if the Bears can win this game.
