The fact that we're even doubting our QB at all at this time of the year bodes badly for the Bears. Good or bad, guys like Eli Manning have the support of their fans and coaches. You don't want your team going into the postseason with any doubts or controversy

Isn't Eli getting booed by the fans in New York?

By the way Derwood, you're coming up on quite a posting milestone there...

Maybe Eli is getting booed, but I'm not hearing the NFL analysts rallying for his backup to be put in (perhaps because the backup is crap, but still...)

Part of the problem there is that analysts and some fans still think the Bears defense is a dominant defense, and that Rex's inconsistency is the only thing holding them back.

People forget is was the Bears defense that crapped the bed last January, and that it's the Bears defense that's been terrible over 5 of the last 6 games.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Giants fans have no faith in Eli, and Coughlin has already tried throwing him under the bus.

Sorry, Derwood. You couldn't be more wrong about the Giants if you tried.

One of my brothers (Giants season ticket holder) said he wants Eli to have a career ending injury and that he hates his slack jawed face.

A friend of mine saw Eli out drunk the night of the Saints game, doing karaoke with some other Giants players. That's the sure sign of a team that values winning.

Out of curiosity, which 2 or 3 games were they?

(That was for Derwood)

I'll go ahead and guess: Packers SNF, Arizona, MNF, and the Jets game? What do I win?

Great minds think alike. Although, I wasn't sure on AZ, because the defense and special teams were SO impressive in the second half of that game.

I've only seen the Bears play 2 or 3 times this year, but I found them to be the least impressive 13-3 team I've seen since, well, the last 13-3 Bears team.

Look here everyone, Sean Salibury is on our site

I have a friend who claimed he offered Eli a shot and Eli just said, "I don't do shots."

Okay, fine, people hate Eli in NY (I know I hate him). But do Giants fans still hold hope for a Super Bowl? Bears fans do despite not really being impressive since the first half of the year.

Maybe your friend mispoke and said he wanted him shot? NY fans are cute that way.

BTW, I hope the Bears win it all this year, but I'm realistic enough to see a team that hasn't been dominant for many games and had a comparatively easy schedule compared to some other NFC contenders.

How many Bears fans hold out hope for a Super Bowl? It seems like most are predicting a 1-and-done or a loss to the Saints/Eagles.

Why wouldn't the Bears fans hold hope? Jesus, they have the 1st seed in playoffs and have rolled the NFC this year. Dude, you saw three Bears games the whole year and those games they weren't very good so your view is obviously going to be slanted negative. No offense, you probably know less about the team then the average Bears fan.

This team has rolled some good teams including 2 possible first round playoff matchups. Despite their recent lackluster performance, they are still the class of the NFC. The NFC is terrible.

I wouldn't bet against New Orleans in a head-to-head with the Bears. If Dallas regains confidence against Seattle, I'd call a Dallas vs. Bears matchup a coin flip.

Listen, I haven't had the access to the Bears that I did during my 12+ years in Chicago. I only got national games (some of which I missed due to work) so of course my view is limited by the games I saw plus what I've read here.

I also know that the last two times the Bears went into the playoffs with home field and/or first round byes, they got rolled by the Eagles and Panthers.

There is no conection between this team and the 01 team. No one team is more likely do fail in the playoffs because a team with different players did so in the past. Even last year's team is much different than this one. Key players have changed. I love how we ridicule these types of ideas when talking about baseball but seem to embrace them when it comes to football.

Dallas against the Bears @ the Bears would be a coinflip? I don't see how you could possibly justify that. The Cowboys have been even worse down the stretch than the Bears.

The Bears could lose the first game. The're not perfect but they're much better than your opinion of them.

As I said, i'll be cheering for them the whole way this year, but I don't see them as dominating as their record indicates.

That's probably because you didn't see any of their dominating performances. I saw them dismantle the Seahawks, Bills, and Niners first hand so I know what their ceiling is. If they're on, no team in the NFC is within a touchdown of them.

Happily, the three teams that they have a chance to play all are worse than they are. An 8-8 Giants team the Bears already pounded on the road isn't going to test them. Seattle isn't going to come here and win. Again, the Bears already demolished Seattle, and Seattle has underachieved all season defensively. Dallas could beat the Bears, but I wouldn't count on it.

They have not, however, been "dominant" in a good 2 months. We're clearly not seeing the same team we saw clearing teams aside in the first 5 weeks. I don't think it's hopeless, but I'm pretty sure any playoff wins are going to be some victories they need to fight REALLY hard for.
