inolving three "BIG" names. Of course he didn't go any further. Does Jock qualify as BIG?

My guess are A-Rod, Tejada, and Crawford...

How about a threesome?

Cubs give - Jacque Jones, Mark Prior, and Cesar Izturis

Cubs get - A Rod

Yankees give - A-Rod, Randy Johnson

Yankees get - Mark Prior, Miguel Tejada

Baltimore give - Miggy

Baltimore gets - Jacque Jones, Randy Johnson

A-Rod to short, sign Floyd for 4th Outfielder, pray to all that is holy that our rotation survives.

Thinking about big names and came up with Helton, Manny, Peavy, A Jones, Willis, Cabrera, Penny in addition toTejada, ARod, and Crawford could be involved. I am definetely intrigued.

Seems like everyone is getting way ripped off by the Cubs.

Just when I thought I could start relaxing on Christmas night...

Of course it probably doesn't involve us, but you know everyone has that in the back of their mind. I did think Jimbo would pull one average to big sized trade this offseason though...(unless you count Cotts as big)

I think the Cards will do something.

They'll will end up with Dontrelle Willis - I'm basing that off of nothing.

They always do something later in the offseason. It's not a bad guess.

I saw a taxicab that had this headline on the electronic billboard: "Official: Yankees resume Randy Johnson talks with the Diamondbacks."

for some reason i get the hunch this has nothing to do with a chicago team.

i don't know who what where why but i would think that the yankees, atlanta, LA Dodgers, San Fransisco, Anahiem, or the marlins would be in the trade deals.

hanley ramirez, miguel cabrera, and dontrelle willis are going to the cardinals for so taguchi and aaron miles.
why does this seem oddly realistic?

edit:oops puncuation

Don't worry, it's not. The Cards are giving up way too much. One of those two might possibly be somewhat serviceable in a couple years for the Marlins.

The only clue you can take from the article is that this trade is not the Randy Johnson trade. I don't think it involves Helton because frankly Helton and his contract are not going to net a big name unless its another onerous contract and I dont think that interests the rockies. Plus the only team reportedly interested were the Angels and O'Dowd flat out denied that he had talked to Stoneman since the winter meetings. And the only "big name" I could have seen the Angels give up was Garet Anderson (not big player, but still marginally a "big name"), but all that probably went out the window with Rivera breaking his leg. Helton to the Yanks makes sense, but as I mentioned before, according to the wording, this is in addition to the Big Unit trade.

Regarding the mention of the White Sox. That appears to be unrelated as the McCarthy deal is the first sentence and this trade is the last sentence in the entire article. I think the mention of the McCarthy deal was moreso to further illustrate the shock that he and others at BP had when the deal was announced.

I have no clue what the trade will be, but Prior is a big name. :)

I personally like the part about them hoping Mark Mulder has other things on his mind other than where he will play next year because he's on his honeymoon.
