Yes, they did and I didn't say stunk it up (you added glitz for effect), but it was subpar for them. NE was careless with the ball, not as bad as the Bears but pretty close. They allowed too many yards and when the game tied, got manhandled when NE drove it down their throats.

no exactly. they forced three third downs, and on the first the whole country saw Harris get dragged to the ground but no holding call. sure Urlacher got deeked, but the whole drive never should have happened. it should have been the three and out we all hoped for.

Well i must be the jackass in the corner. Im not going to bury rex because of this game against the pats. he played really well at times. The last pass sucked and i wonder why sheed was even in on that play. i didnt see him in until the last pass. The defense played well. Dominating hell no. Do you dominate the Pats? Good luck.

 

The run game did really well today. The oline was really awesome. THE pats are great against the run and the bears ran for 153 yards. 153 yards! They sucked up the pats blitz package pretty well too. This is a very positive accomplishment.

This was about like the Miami game.. Didn't get beat, just blew the game.. False start on the made field goal, calling a time out before NE missed the field goal, Urlacker getting burned by Tom Brady on a 3rd and long the set up a TD instead of a field goal.. Lots of mistakes, not to mention Grossman's stupid play to end the game. 2 minutes left and you go for the homerun ball on the firts play.. Stupid..

At contact, they're pretty close, as far as knowing which guy to pick up and when to chip a guy, I think Jones has a better concept when to leak out of the backfield.

Agreed. I'm not going to be losing a lot of sleep on this. We played right with them the whole game...the refs, the coaching, and some sloppy play (from both teams) led to a loss.

 

My issues are Benson not being in there more, and the "throw and pray" plays that Turner was calling...

Bears played a good game, considering they were on the road and playing the Patriots (and considering poor reffing, imo) but shot themselves in the foot waaaaaaay too much. Poor coaching decisions (Lovie, Turner, playing TJ way too much), Grossman made too many mistakes and the defense was terrible for the most part of the fourth quarter. The game was there for the taking and I'm pretty disappointed with the Bears.

Same here. I wanted them to win it, but 2 out of 3 on a really tough roadtrip and then losing the last 1 by only 4 points against one of the best teams out there really isn't killing me. If they look the same next week back at home, THEN I'll worry.

if they are giving you the homerun ball, it's definitely the play you make. it was there. he just missed it. not stupid. just sucky.

I wanted to hurt him when he did that (but I was also freaking pissed at #54 for getting deeked by Tom Freaking Brady).

Bingo. Let's see how they look next week before pushing the panic button. They did a nice job coming back after the Miami loss.

 

Did we really expect them to go undefeated; to sweep 3 straight East Coast roadies?

 

Grossman has his issues; but let's wait and see.

The Bears have 5 weeks against some weak offenses to repair this defense. They can't rely on turnovers, especially ones that shouldn't have been made.

 

I'm more worried about that and the coaching (mostly the RB situation) than Grossman.

I agree that Jones has a better concept of what to do...but his execution is lacking compared to Benson and Benson is starting to pick up the intricacies a lot more.
