Pack your bags for New Orleans, ND. There's no way in hell any poll will rank the Irish ahead of Michigan unless they obliterate a 1-loss USC next week by about 30.

congrats to O$U. I now hope you lose 110-0 in the BCS game

I am making a bold prediction right now. Ohio St will beat anyone they play by 3 tds, unless its Michigan. In some sort of sick way I hope they do play Rutgers.

I dont know if the pass interference play was called correctly. I do know that the defender had his back turned and was slapping at Manningham's hands. If he by chance didnt hit one he was lucky because he sure was trying to interfere. I dont think the refereeing made any difference in the outcome of the game. I think that there was some not so great calls both ways but the difference in the game if you ask me is that Troy Smith played better than Henne. It wasnt that Henne played bad but Smith was Heismanesgue.

You can just hand the Heisman to Smith now. It's not even going to be close. McFadden's a heck of a player----I'd put him second ahead of Quinn. But I'd be suprised if those two combined get the votes Smith will. He romped in two games against challenging #2 teams. That's the definition of Heisman Trophy winner.

Even if they do, they got massacred by Michigan in South Bend. IMO ND should have no shot. No offense to ND fans, but Michigan is just a way, way better ballclub.

Yeah, barring Quinn throwing for 500 yards and 5 TD's against USC next week, Smith has the Heisman wrapped up. Not that I think he should win the Heisman, but he will.

Alright now that the UM-OSU game is over, lets shift focus to the next big game, Cal vs. USC. What are the implications of that in the BCS. Obviously the winner of the Pac-10 is decided, and if USC wins, they will get a fair chance at the national title game by facing Notre Dame. But if Cal wins, will they get a shot at a BCS bowl?

The end of the OSU game just reminded me of how big a disappointment this season really has been. I should be happy with 10-1 right now, but it bugs me to no end that this season will end in the Sugar Bowl and with no Heisman for Brady Quinn. Not my vision of how 2006 was going to go.

You answered your own question. The winner wins the Pac-10 and will, at the very least, go to the Rose Bowl.

Yeesh, Oregon lost to Arizona 37-10. IN Eugene.

That Arizona program is starting to turn the corner.

Stoops is doing a good job in Tucson. For the second straight year, their recruiting class is going to rival that of USC, UCLA and Cal's. They're a program on the rise.

You've got a great coach, a building program, and a BCS game coming your way.

I understand having high standards, but ND fans have nothing to be ashamed of.

Which is good, because I think the Pac 10 could really use another legit contending program.

Briggs comes from Zona. He's got to be smiling right now :) Next year should be fun in Tuscon.

Yeah, after htis week, my ballot would be something like Smith/Slaton/McFadden/Quinn/somebody else.

My (biased) ballot is

Smith

Quinn

McFadden

who cares after that

(Steve Slaton's not even the best running back on his own team, that honor goes to his QB)

It depends on how Tuitama (the sophomore QB) progresses, but I agree.

I love how they introed to the Cal-USC game with the "Pirates of the Caribbean" theme. GO CAL!!!

Alright, Arkansas clinches the West, and remains undefeated in a hard fought game against Mississippi State, who came in sporting a ridiculous run defense and lived up to it today. I was skeptical until I saw the way they bottled up the Hogs. There is some very intriguing talent on that team, and they might not suck for long--honestly, they kinda remind me of the Razorbacks last season, with the obvious difference of not having a big-time difference makers like McFadden on offense. Next comes the Battle for the Boot.

Sadly, the close game between OSU and Michigan all but eliminates any chance of the Hogs sneaking into the championship game (I'm a little skeptical that Michigan would fall enough in the polls to give Arkansas a chance to pass, even with losses by USC and ND in the coming weeks).

Also, testimony to what a stud McFadden is--today he was bottled up big time--at halftime, he had 11 rushes for 22 yards. Nevertheless, he managed to still have a huge impact, returning a kickoff 92 yards for a TD and throwing a crucial pass to Marcus Monk for a big first down.

I'm glad I don't work next Friday.
