buh bye Big East.

Not exactly. If WVU wins out, their only loss will be to Louisville on the road. They'll have a legitimate case. As would Louisville for that matter.

A legitimate case for what? :-k

The National Title game.

WVU over a school like Michigan, USC, or ND for the national title game? They wouldn't even be in the discussion.

They lost a close game, on the road, to another very good opponent in Louisville. They should most definitely be in the discussion.

I know Cuse has said it but I'm going to repeat it: the complete underestimation and disrespect for the Big East by some people is insane.

Not quite as insane as saying West Virginia's resume compares with Michigan, USC/ND, or Florida/Arkansas.

Then with all due respect, you & cuse aren't thinking clearly. The only thing that is insane is that teams like that make it up the rankings when they are clearly not in the same league as the power programs in the country.

Put WVU in the national title game and you have a 62-0 national embarrassment, while much more deserving programs play in lesser games as the country moans over not getting to see the best teams play for the title.

The only problem is WV's lack of big wins. All the other teams will have at least 2 big wins over marquee teams if they win out (Michigan over ND, Wisconsin) (USC over Arkansas, Cal, ND, and a good win against Nebraska), ND (GT, USC). WV has a good win against Maryland, and a good win over Rutgers, but those caliber of wins simply doesn't stack up with the others, especially when you consider that WV only has a couple wins against the next tier of teams (teams like Pitt for WV, or Penn State and Purdue for ND, etc) that the others have a few more wins aginst.

No I'm not. You said they "should definitely be in the discussion". That's wrong, they don't compare with Michigan, or the winner of USC/ND, or the winner of Florida/Arkansas. It's not particularly close either.

Are you kidding me? Did you see the WVU/Georgia game last year? Have you even seen WVU or Louisville play this year? The statement of yours that I bolded might just be the most ludicrous and insane statement I have ever heard or read in my life. Now, I'm not guaranteeing that WVU/Louisville would beat OSU. But it wouldn't be a blowout. Not at all.

Yes you are. I just said WVU should be in the discussion and that's it. I did not bring up resumes of teams. You did, my friend. Therefore you are trying to put words in my mouth.

Because of their resumes, they don't belong in the discussion.

It would be, but thankfully we won't have to see it. I watched both those clubs play this year quite a bit. They don't belong on the same field as OSU, Michigan, ND, USC for a national title. In fact, there isn't a Big East ballclub that could go through the SEC, Big 10, or Pac 10 with fewer than 3 conference losses.

Like I said, thankfully the voters realize this and WVU won't be in the discussion, nor will Louisville or Rutgers.

The fact that you think a WVU/OSU game wouldn't be a blowout in OSU's favor is simply insane. I appreciate your opinion and all, but I think it's out in left field with all due respect.

Have we yet determined if West Virginia's biggest win over MARYLAND WHO GOT PUMMELED TODAY BY A SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE BC TEAM is better than USC's ridiculous resume?

I know USC had a bad loss. They've also had some enormous wins over very very good teams.

USC is at the top of the one loss teams right now in my mind.

I would agree with that. If USC wins out, I think it should be Ohio State-USC. If Florida, ND, or Arkansas do-then it could be them, or it could be Michigan-both ways are reasonable.

I do not foresee a scenario other than the voters don't want a repeat in the title game that ND jumps Michigan.

I still think there's a decent chance ND beats USC next week. We'll see. Going to be a good game. College football is so great this time of year.

I can see that scenario playing out because we have seen it play out over and over again in college football. Every time we have a situation like this plays out, a late loss hurts worse than a head to head loss early in the season does. It may not be right, but it almost always happens that way-so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again. I think it's viable because it is precedent. Two quick examples:

1993-ND/Florida State-each with 1 loss, FSU's loss was to ND-FSU wins this matchup.

2000-FSU/Miami/Washington. All finished with 1 loss. Washington beat Miami, and Miami beat FSU, but FSU goes to the title game.

If ND jumps Michigan, it will simply be following the same principle that college football has always followed. At the same time, I wouldn't be unhappy with the breaking of that principle either, so I can see it going either way.

Actually they have 1 automatic in now, so they will likely draw the USC/ND loser.

And vance, you really really really dont want to beat Arkansas. Why? Cause then you will get to see Mr P J Hill up close and personal in the Cap 1 Bowl. The scary thing is we only lose 12 guys next year and only 4 are starters.

There isn't a sports team I hate more than LSU. I hate them, so very...very, very much.

ahhhhh hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Must be nice to only have one real sports school in the whole state. Our talent is divided between three teams, UM, MSU, and USM. I hate it.

Doesn't matter anyways since Arkansas is gonna take the division.

You underestimate them FAR more than I may overestimate them. 62-0 OSU over WVU? Please. It did give me a good laugh though. We'll see once bowl season rolls around.

That goes for Wisconsin too.

MSU has talent? Since when?

Arkansas already clinched earlier in the day btw.
