I want to see the class list Nichols is in after that little interview. :-s

What did he say/do?

I am not sure it was an english response. More like morse code. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he was just nervous.

Dunno if anyone else has tried it, but the ESPN360 thing they're doing for Championship Week is really cool. The broadcast is probably 10-15 seconds behind real time, but that's a small price to pay for no stupid buffering. I'm watching the NEC title game on the computer while WVU-Providence is on my TV.

(It's also how I'll be watching ND-Cuse tomorrow.)

ARRON AFFLALO EARNS FIRST-TEAM ALL-AMERICA HONORS

UCLA junior guard Arron Afflalo has been selected first-team All-America by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, it was announced today.

In addition, Afflalo was named a first-team All-American by ESPN.com. He has also been selected first-team All-America by Dick Vitale and will be featured on A Vitale special to air on ABC on March 31.

Afflalo, who earlier this week was named Pac-10 and USBWA District IX Player of the Year, leads the Bruins and is third in the Pac-10 in scoring, averaging 17.2 points per game. Afflalo has scored in double figures in 29 consecutive games and his led the Bruins in scoring in 17 games this year.

He's currently the Pac-10's active scoring leader with 1,447 career points, which ranks 21st on UCLA's all-time scoring list. In addition, his 199 career three-pointers rank second all-time in Bruin history.

In the last two years, he has led the Bruins to a record of 58-11, two Pac-10 championships, the 2006 Pac-10 Tournament championships and a trip to the 2006 NCAA title game.

Joining Afflalo on the NABC first team are Freshman Kevin Durant of Texas, senior Alando Tucker of Wisconsin, senior Acie Law IV of Texas A&M and sophomore Tyler Hansbrough of North Carolina.

Arron's the first UCLA All-American since Ed O'Bannon in 1995.

Down 13-6, Cal went on a 34-2 run () against Oregon State to open up a 40-15 lead.

At the half, Cal is up 43-25 on Oregon State. I think it's safe to assume UCLA will play Cal tomorrow and not Oregon State.

Never seen a run like that before...

Another way to look at that run: with Oregon State up 15-13, Cal went on a 27-0 run.

Heh, Oregon State responded with a 24-7 run and had made it an 8-point game before Cal ended up pulling away. Cal wins 70-51 and wiill face UCLA tomorrow at 2 pm PT.

7 Washington vs. 10 Arizona State up next...

NIU loses to Western Michigan in the first round of the MAC Tournament to finish off an outstanding 7-23 season.

Rob Judson looks like he'll be on his way out as coach of the Huskies in the next few days.

Mizzou - Baylor tomorrow night. Just the first step up the ladder on our way the Big Dance. optimism>

Rogers has a gimpy ankle and won't be 100%, which is good because he did his best Julian Wright imitation when they came to CoMo. Fun fact: Baylor hasn't won a Big XII game away from home(read: away games and tourney games) in 3 years. That's at least 26 consecutive losses. It'd be really swell if we weren't the team to break that streak.

Oof...I now have a bad feeling about this.

He is an extremely shy person and until this year you wouldn't even know even he talked. Boeheim has got him to be more assertive on the court and he finally has had the confidence to shot the ball without feeling like a selfish player.

guess you weren't watching the 2nd half of the Bulls/Heat game last night...

ooh bracketology has #6 ND versus #11 winthrop.... i'll gladly take the eagles in that matchup

Bracketology is wrong. No way ND is below a 5 if they win today against Cuse IMO. Their RPI is 33, but just about every other ratings system known to man has them in the top 20.

Well, since they will lose to the Cuse, they'll end up as a 6 or 7.

We beat Cuse by 12 on the road with Carter hobbled and Kurz out with an injury.

I wouldn't say there's no way ND loses, but I like their chances.

Lunardi is very good. A 33 RPI hasn't been enough to get teams off the bubble in the past, and their 117th SOS doesn't help matters either.

I think you're probably right, but ND's piss poor schedule (#307!! OOC) will keep them from getting a seed as high as one might expect from a 23-6 Big East team. If they beat Cuse I think they're a 5, though, since they seem to be playing well right now.

btw, Clemson-FSU is a big, big game as far as bubble implications. Clemson has played poorly down the stretch, but I think there's a decent chance they get in with a win over the Noles. Their non-conf schedule was a joke, but the ACC was tough, and they have a pretty good road/neutral record. I guess they might need a good performance against their next opponent, though.
