Mizzou-Oklahoma tonight. I will not be attending because I have a fantasy baseball draft at 7 and that is more important to me.

Real big game tonight. Lots of shuffling going on in the middle of the Big 12, hopefully Mizzou can get their 3rd in a row against an OU team that hasn't fared very well on the road.

That's one guy... I don't see how we will be left out with a 4th place finish in the Big 12. Only one Big 12 team has ever been left out with 10 wins, and that was colorado, but they only won 18 games that year. If we win 2 more, we'll have 10 wins and 21 on the season. Win a game in the Big 12 tourney, and that puts us at 11 wins in the conference and 22 wins overall. No way we'd be left out.

Lunardi is normally very, very good with his predictions. I'd really like to believe that the Big 12 has that much weight, if for nothing else that it keeps a shred of hope that Mizzou could get an at-large with a miracle spurt to end the season, but I don't think that's the case. The Big 12 is down this year, 7th in RPI(just below the Valley and above the Mountain West) among conferences, and I'm not sure if KSU is guaranteed a spot considering some of the other conference crunches, unless they beat one of the other 3 tourney teams(KU, aTm, Texas) in the conference tourney.

Not good news for Jamar Smith today, going to be charged with felony aggravated DUI and failure to report an accident with injury.

Curious to see if BW just slaps his wrist like he did with Mcbride's DUI.

Doubt it. I wouldn't be surprised if the university dismisses him and it never comes by Weber. That being said, we all know how athletes are treated at every major university.

Maybe if the Mcbride incident never occured he would get a second chance, but like you, I doubt he does.

Big game tonight as Texas Tech heads to Texas.

Hopefully this time they have a plan to slow down Durant.

Go Texas!

Sorry, but I'll have to root against Tech and Okie Light from now on...

May a longhorn find it's way into you backyard!

Just for that you will finish 5th in the Big 12.

Haha! KIL, you know I've never rooted against you guys, but I have to right now. We need to stay 4th in the conference, and really can do it ourselves by beating OU, CU, and OSU. A little help is always nice though.

My only thought is we have already beaten Texas AT Texas. If USC hadn't have lost to ASU, that would have been a pretty nice win too.

That's definitely an impressive win, but unfortunately that's the only one. KSU is 1-5 against the RPI Top 50, and OSU is the only team left on the schedule that fits that bill. Even then, the catch-22 is that OSU likely loses to aTm tomorrow, meaning that if KSU beats them too they drop out of the top 50. Also, while the Texas win is great, it's countered somewhat by bad losses against New Mexico and Colorado St.

Texas is so up and down right now, its hard to figure out what they will do. They could win tonight by 30 or lose by 10. Durant is the most exciting player in the country though, and with Knight you got yourself some good tv :-).

I just saw Joakim Noah's incident with the Vandy coach from Saturday and I have to say, Noah didn't do anything wrong there. The Vandy coach had no reason to hang on to the ball there.

Noah existed.

The ref has to handle the ball first, so no matter who's holding it there's no reason for Noah to flip out and try to get it back. Then there's the matter of it being the opposing coach with the ball, which anyone with a modicum of common sense knows you don't instigate anything with during the game.

PS- I thought I already made this post, but apparently I didn't. So if you see something similar in a Soriano thread or something, there you go.

this was after a made basket, right? i didnt realize the refs handle every basketball before the inbound in this situation. i just thought the other team grabbed it and went. which makes me think the coach was being an ass, not noah this time. its delaying the inbound pass, and slowing the game.

I'm pretty sure it was a loose ball out of bounds.

You're right.

Where do you find the conference RPI? I found each team's RPI on a couple sites but have been unable to find the conference rankings.

Big one tonight Andy. I'll be decked out in my DePaul track and field warm up jacket that I was supposed to return after my final meet. :-$

But even I must admit, I have a bad feeling going into this one. We barely beat you at home in a game that could've gone either way at the end. I don't see the Blue Demons fairing well in South Bend.

Hopefully you're right.

I'll be busting out my Leprechaun Legion T-shirt (that's the clever name for ND's student section) and backwards ND green hat, as I do for all ND national telecasts.

You bet I am. I'd forgotten which poster on here had an issue with backwards hats, actually. :D

Actually, hopefully I'm wrong. Notre Dame is more than likely tournament bound. DePaul needs to play their way in by not losing anymore regular season games (and possibly doing well in the Big East tourney) Help a brother out!
