Honestly, I had no expectations of winning the game beforehand, and even in the early going I genuinely felt that I would be happy if the game was close. But that just crushed me, especially seeing Hannah's reaction right after he lost the ball.

I'm just dejected right now. This one hurts a lot.

Yes, it really does. I thought for sure we could win this one (so sure, I put $50 on it)

We should've taken advantage of Pruitt down low more, and should've locked McBride in a cage in Abu Dhabi. Good-Great games from the frontcourt, bad-mediocre games from the backcourt.

wow, the illinois-mizzou rivalry is strong on this board. good to see its a game again . . . and that the illini won!

Pomeroy nailed the exact # of points Illinois scored tonight predicting a 73-66 victory. I'm not really saying it validates the rest of his predictions, just think it's cool when things hit like that.

And screwing around on the site for awhile I came across Butler. It's going to be interesting to see where they wind up in the tourney field. They have wins over 4-6 tourney teams to go with a bad loss against Indiana St. The Horizon is not going to offer up much competition, where I can't see them losing more than 5 games on the year. Is the committee going to give them the same impartial treatment they gave the Zags last year despite them not playing anyone for 2.5 months or is the fact that they haven't been there before going to knock them down and make them a dreadful matchup for some team?

UCLA wins 75-61, slept through most of the game but it really wasn't as close as the final score.

Up next, Michigan at Pauley on Saturday at 11 am.

Take it easy on us! We might be 10-1, but its as strong as the Wisconsin footballs record. We lost to the only above average team we played (NC State)

Ehh, UCLA has looked sloppy since leaving Maui. We'll see.

I was supposed to have tickets to the game but UCLA has a stupid new rule that you have to have a current Bruin Card for tickets in the Den. :x

That was a tough one. I think Missouri finally breaks the streak next year. We return everybody, plus a transfer who supposedly is our best player in practice comes in. Ugh. This sucks. At least we get to hopefully beat Illinois in football next year .

Don't count on either. Pruitt, Randle, Frazier, etc. Basically all but Carter and McBride are back.

Illinois Football is on the way up too.

You really think a 2-10 team is gonna beat an 8-4 team when we return like 16 starters? Remember, in college football, juniors and seniors win games NOT true freshman.

By the way, I love this new found cockiness Illinois fans have because they're recruiting class is very good. They're in for a rude awakening if they really think they're gonna be as good as they think they will be.

To counter, Mizzou graduates no one(well, Watkins, but he was part of the mascot team that came on in blowouts before tonight) and adds DeMarre Carroll, who put up 10 and 6 in the SEC as a soph last year for Vandy.

Yes.

Actually, I think it will be close. Illini and Mizzou games always seem close, no matter how good or bad one is over the other.

That is true. I still find the general cockiness a bit, um, odd. But, should be a fun game. Missouri should win and will definitely be favored, though.

Luckily Juice will be a true sophomore next year.

And I like complaints about cockiness from fans who were talking seriously about BCS berths and Gameday appearances after beating nothing but mediocre at best teams to open the season.

Didn't we go over that when it happened? HOPE, not expect, or even think a very high probability of happening.

Which is all I hear from Illinois football fans, some hope that they could once again become a legitimate team. Nobody's saying look out Ohio St. and Michigan, people are saying, hey if things work out we can beat a 4-4 Big 12 team.

Should we not have? We were 6-0? We were excited about our team. Nobody really thought Gameday was coming to Columbia, especially after losing at A&M. My goodness. Maybe when Illinois starts beating some bad to mediocre teams should they expect to start beating teams mediocre to above average.

That's all I wanted to hear. Anyways, congrats on the win tonight. At least the game was competitive again.

Well yeah, but obviously da bears is pissed off about the loss, and probably has to deal with a lot of crap living in Illinois, that's why he's crazy today. I certainly don't think it's inconceivable for Illinois to beat Mizzou in football.

Yeah, exactly. Anyways I agree. I think Mizzou should beat Illinois, but I dont put it past Missouri to blow it against any team. Hell I was worried about Murry State to start the year.

You don't read very closely. We said nothing but IF, and HOPE, and COULD, and MIGHT with this Mizzou team. If we would've beaten A&M, GameDay would've come to Columbia to see an undefeated Mizzou team vs. an Oklahoma team who had only lost to Texas at that point. To have counted Mizzou out of playing in the Big 12 Championship in a weak North division early in the season is absurd. Once you get to the Big 12 Championship, anything is possible. So yes, we were talking that IF the team took advantage of the opportunities that they had in front of them, they COULD have played on GameDay, in the B12 Championship, or maybe even a BCS game. We aren't stupid or ignorant fans like you have seemed to make us out to be. We are pretty die-hard, but realistic about our Mizzou sports. We know things like winning the Big 12 Championship are slim chances, but I don't think it is unrealistic to talk about what COULD happen if things fall into place.
