i gotta say i don't see the bulls beating the heat. heat in 5.

Is there a reason for that?

Yeah they are better than us. That and they have DWade, who in the playoffs gets fouls called for him in the pregame warmup. We are like the Mariners were a few years ago, built for the regular season. We just don't have that go to guy who can get his own one on one and in the NBA playoffs you need that.

So you're also a Heat in 5 guy?

Nah I think it goes 7, but I got them in 7.

The Heat needed everything Wade had to beat the Pacers in Miami a couple nights ago. Wade's a shadow of what he was last year. Bring 'em on. Bulls in 6.

Well bring on the Heat. It's not about advancing, it should be about winning the championship. If they can't beat the Heat, they've got no shot. They have the home court, let's see what they do.

And yes, the seeding system is a joke. Who's the moron that thought it up? So shortsighted. They wanted the 2 best teams to meet in the conference finals, but how dumb were they not to anticipate something like this.

And to add to that. They barely beat us in the playoffs last year. And that was when we didn't have Wallace. Deng and Gordon were a year younger. We didn't have TT or Thabo. Shaq was a year younger, D-Wade was fully healthy, and they were playing the best basketball in the league. Oh yeah, and they had home court advantage.

I don't see how you can just say the Heat are a better team. The 82 games each team has played the past 6 months don't back that up.

I hope someone on the bulls make DWade their personal whipping bitch for this series.

Hard foul on the shoulder all series. No ticky tack hand checks. Make that boy earn his stripes.

I only caught the end of the game, but between what I heard from that moron Walton and his cohorts and the guys on Basketball Studio, you'd think the Bulls shouldn't even show up for the playoffs. All that I kept hearing was how demoralizing this loss was. Come on guys, was it REALLY that bad? Yeah it sucks, but these guys are pros.

Yo soy el noch.

If we let Hinrich do it, the refs will eject him by the second quarter.

Man the Knicks screwed the Bulls over. If there wasnt reason enough already, the Bulls went from having a good chance to getting Brandon Wright or possibly Al Horford, to now tenth spot. I HATE YOU KNICKS.

I have zero confidence that the officiating assignments for this series won't make it extremely difficult for the Bulls to win 4 of 7.

All you need to do is look at the Duncan/Crawford situation to know how the league feels about it's most marketable stars. Wade is the most marketable of those. Hinrich is going to be in foul trouble the entire series. The refs will protect Wade and his shoulder, because the league would love a nice Wade comeback from adversity and injury to lead his team back to the Finals. The Bulls will have a very hard time getting calls on the road.

The first two games are going to be huge. You have to hold serve at home, because I don't think we'll be allowed to beat Miami on the road.

Is there a reason for that?

Because the Heat are the Champs and will have that entire team back for the playoffs.

Heat will get all the calls.

Heat will get all the pub.

Heat have all the experience.

I don't think it's going to be as bad as Heat in 5. I'm going to go Heat in 7. We lost the season last night, boys and girls. The game was absolutely that big. Even if we do manage to pass the Heat, the Pistons will be waiting in the 2nd round. We just blew it to hell.

Terrible.

and to think The Nets almost blew there team up at the deadline. Oh and when Vince "I am not trying here in Toronto even though I am making millions" Carter plays up there I hope he blows both of his knees out.

'Chicago feels like they can beat us,'' said Wade, who sat out Wednesday's finale along with O'Neal and James Posey. ``Kirk Hinrich came out and said it. We'll find out.

``It would be a great matchup. They have the opportunity now to be at home. They feel that's the only reason we won last year, because we had home-court advantage. So the only thing you can do is throw the ball up and play.''

After his team's shootaround Wednesday, O'Neal offered a similar sentiment.

''I don't care who they are or what they say, nobody wants to play us in a seven-game series,'' O'Neal said. ``And if they do, we're coming.''

Added Mourning: ``Be careful what you wish for.''

We're screwed

Wow, Hinrich, you idiot.

if everyone already believes that David Stern has sat down with the refs and told them to let the Heat win, well I don't know what to add to this thread anymore. That's completely ludicrous

I'm far more concerned about having dropped to 10th in the draft than I am about the Heat.

Bring 'em on.

Eh? Don't we need to do a ping pong ball blower-thingy first before we know that?

We were tied for 5th (or was it 6th?) yesterday. Worst case scenario was we'd wind up at 10th, and we did. Knicks won and everyone else lost.

As for the ping pong balls, we now have a lot fewer ping bong balls to be blown... If I understand it correctly, it's either get incredibly lucky and land in the top 3... or wind up 10th (or worse, if a later picking lottery team gets lucky with the ping pong balls).

i still think the draft lottery is a sham until they actual draw the ping pong balls live. All this secret drawing, envelope nonsense is crap

I don't necessarily think that, but the NBA has shown a tendency to put poorer officials in a position to have to call a pivotal game for a team on the road. Bad officials tend to be swayed by home crowds.

And if you don't think the officials-whether by league mandate or not-call a different game for certain players, I don't know what to tell you.

sure they do. We benefited from that for a dozen years with jordan, who comitted offensive fouls almost every time he scored and never got called. I just grow weary of the knee-jerk "the refs lost us the game" excuse every game.

How the refs decide to call the Hinrich/Wade matchup is going to decide this series. I have no faith that Kirk will get many breaks his way. Heck, he's probably the most unfairly officiated player in the league from what I've seen.

Wait... you think the idea of Stern telling the refs to call the games in favor of the Heat is ludicrous yet you think the draft lotto is fixed? Seems contradictory to me.

Frankly, I think both conspiracy theories are ludicrous.
