From what I heard from Grace in the booth he doesn't even come close to Stone or Brenly.

Grace at times can be entertaining, but he's not that good of a commentator. I think he'd be a worse manager. Grace doesn't want to pay his dues either. He wants to broadcast or manage and has little interest in being a minor league manager to work his way up. I'd pass on Grace in any capacity.

Come on SouthSideRyan. This has nothing to do with the HOF. I doubt if Mark Grace is losing any sleep over the HOF. There's a lot of worthy players who are not famers. Ex - Ron Santo, Dale Murphy, Goose Gossage, one can even make an argument for Keith Hernandez.

 

IMO I just don't think steroids and corked bats belong in the Hall. But that's just me.

 

So what if Sosa is in the Hall. Those of us who can't stand him [ and believe me, I know a lot of people ] will not lose any sleep over it.

That doesn't make him a better person than someone who is not in the Hall.

With that said, just because I am a fan of the "1980'S Cubs Fantastic Four" doesn't mean I want any of them working for the Cubs in a personnel department. They will always be my favorites, but in no way shape or form, I want them making "personnel decisions."

I liked Grace as a player. He's a hack as an announcer, and I think I'd rather have Dick Pole as manager over Grace.
