Anyone notice he's hitting around 320/400/550 for San Diego? I haven't seen any Padres games so I don't know about his D at the hot corner...but a 900+ OPS is outstanding.

He has been horrible at 3B for the Padres. I wonder what his excuse is for that?

He's simply not a third baseman.

Maybe that he hasn't played that position since 1998?

he's not great defensively? I don't know what excuse there is to make. I don't remember him making excuses for his defense, actually, though I could be mistaken.

And his line is 320/433/500. Pretty impressive. His home/away splits aren't really drastic either. He's actually had a better avg/obp at home. His power dips though.

No no no, cant be. Since he's hitting really well we have to belittle him somehow!

My dad the Tiger fan really wanted to get Walker before the Padres traded for him. Now he really wished the Tigers would have made that deal instead of getting Neifi.

I dont know why some people miss Walker. The guy hurts your team on defense. Only thing he is good for, is a bat off the bench. Last time I checked, you win with pitching and defense.

Last time I checked, you win with offense too.

Pitching and defense, is more important than offense. If you dont have a solid pitching staff supported with a solid defense, your not going to win many baseball games.

Walker's defense at second wasn't bad enough to offset the benefit he brings with the bat. I'd rather have Walker at second next season than Cedeno.

there all pretty important when you don't have any!

the cubs make up for that by not being fundamentally sound though!

Yet, you advocate the Cubs retaining Juan Pierre who hurts the Cubs from a defensive standpoint because of his weak arm.

I don't know if you've noticed, but he advocates pretty much every baseball stereotype. In this case, he advocates retaining Pierre because he is fast, leadoff-type player and a "gamer"

Pierre has 0 errors so far for the Cubs this year. For the 100th time, all Pierre needs to do is throw the ball to the cut-off man. Didnt Pierre win a world series with his bad arm in CF for the Marlins?

No, Pierre was part of a team that won the World Series. His bad arm really didn't help much.

Since June 24th, Pierre has had the most hits in the majors with 80. Didnt D-Lee get off to a slow start with the Cubs in 04? He seems to have adjusted pretty well. Same can be said for Pierre.

The point is, you can win a world series with Pierre in CF.
