By the way, did you notice the first test was passed? Theriot was the first infielder off the bench tonight and not Bynum.

 

I think Mr. Theriot has impressed Baker with his knowledge and toughness.

I think one or two had to be earned... not sure though

 

Any runs scored after what should have been the 3rd out are unearned, at least that's my understanding. The box score and announcers agree that all four runs are unearned. The Utley HR is an earned run. Time to lift Hill as he is at 101 pitches.

 

GameCenter often doesn't update to distinguish between earned and unearned runs until after the game. I know sportsline doesn't, at any rate.

 

As Jim Ignatowski notes, the MLB.com program is showing 5R, 1ER.

Well now the official scorer has changed one of the errors (the first one) to a fielder's choice, so the first run scored was earned, the rest unearned and the 5th run, scored the next inning, was also earned. Bottom line two of the five runs earned, 3 unearned.

Apparently the Blue Jay manager and his pitcher got into a fight after the pitcher was removed. Themanager ended up with a bloody nose (same manager that wanted Hillenbrand (spelling) to fight him!!!!!!!

Watching the game on mlb.tv--the fight started with the manager pushing the player in the tunnel to the clubhouse, players and coaches needed to break them up.

pretty good outing by hill. he had really good command of his curve...he had trouble spotting his fb. cedeno's poor decision really changed the game.

Hitting his spot with the FB seems to be his issue. Needs a little better command and he'll be fine. The HR to Utley was a FB I believe.

Good move, it saved the Cubs some money and still landed a catching prospect. Thanks Jim Hendry!

 

That catching prospect has 3 hits tonight by the way, including a double and 3 rbi's for Daytona.

 

Very good! Imagine if Hendry ended up getting a 8 time All-Star catcher for Neifi? Yes, life will be good again!

 

Yeah we all know Hendry isn't that good.

 

I'm a bit late and I'm sure someone has mentioned but Hernandez for Ramirez?
