Wow, when is the next game with Liverpool?

I'm assuming you mean the Champions League semifinals. Manchester United and Milan will play April 24 and May 2 while Chelsea and Liverpool will play April 25 and May 1. The final will be May 23.

This sounds like a great idea:

Luis Arroyave"]This summer, Chicago will host a tournament called The Chicago Trophy. The tournament will include four clubs and will take place July 27th and July 29th at Soldier Field.

So which clubs are coming?

They're still working out the details, but I've been told some of the clubs they're talking to are Mexico's Cruz Azul, Greece's Olympiacos, Spain's Sevilla, and Italy's Juventus--among others. Things are still in the negotation stages, so I wouldn't pencil in any of these teams just yet.

Chelsea and Man U both won their FA Cup semifinals so they will meet in the final May 19. The two teams will also play, likely for the Premier League title, on May 9 and could meet in the Champions League final on May 23.

Barrett with the huge equilizer in the 84th minute which should avoid an embarrassing 11 on 10 loss. The Fire's offensive attack has looked anemic tonight.

i haven't been able to comment on all the goings on in the football world.

i'm very excited about chelsea's quad attempt. i don't think its likely that it'll happen but to be in mid-april with a good chance to win 4 trophies, is a great thing.

the epl title is now up for grabs as rio ferdinand and man u crapped the bed against portsmouth last weekend. both chelsea and man u have some fairly tough match left, not included the monster, may 9th match in london.

champions league is dominated by english clubs, which makes a statement about the quality of the epl, at least the top 4. chelsea has a tough match against l'pool but it'll be exciting match regardless.

i'm looking forward to the last 6 weeks of the football season, hopefully i'm not disappointed.

An absolutely ridonkulous goal by Leo Messi. I think he beat half the other team during that run.

He's on his way to becoming one of the top 3 players in the world. IIRC, he's only 19.

Also, in the EPL today, Man U drew with 'Boro. That opens the door to Chelsea moving within 1 point of the leaders with a win vs. Newcastle tomorrow. :D

Simply an amazing play.

Fire move to 2-0-1 with a 2-1 win over the Wizards. They lost the shutout on a penalty kick in the 90th minute, but hung on to win.

some of the defending on the back end was pretty horrendous, but that was a sick run

Interesting...

NYTimes.com"]“It’s that blue-collar work ethic in him, that is why we bet on David Beckham,” he says. Mr. Leiweke says AEG is now in talks to bring a second international star to the Chicago Fire, another of Mr. Anschutz’s soccer teams. “We are working on a deal right now,” he says, before suggesting whom he is trying to snare. “There are only four players that move the needle: Ronaldo. Beckham. Zidane. Ronaldinho.”

Ronaldinho will never play in MLS. I doubt Ronaldo would.

That leaves Zidane. I would be stunned beyond belief if Zidane played in MLS, or played in MLS for anyone other than RBNY.

I'd be more stunned if AEG really spent that kind of money for a superstar to play in Chicago.

Eh. We're one of 4 major market teams in MLS. We are probably a better investment than RBNY, honestly, considering that team can't get it's act together and fund a stadium. Besides, RBNY has Altidore, Reyna (I still hate him) and the Argentinian they just signed. Chivas USA probably won't have a DP for awhile, and if they do it'll likely be someone who plays for the parent club. LA has Beckham and Donovan.

We really don't have a star on the Fire. Blanco doesn't count; he's past his prime. If I were AEG, I'd dump resources into our market.

Chelsea blew a big opportunity to put more pressure on Man U and tied Newcastle at St. James' Park. Since Man U holds the tiebreaker with a better gaol differential, Chelsea has to hope that Man U screws up again for them to win the Premier League.

AEG has been looking to dump the Fire for a while now, though. They'd have to think it would have huge potential in order to go through with it.

Then again, I wonder what the price for trading for a DP spot would be.

I'm predicting a 2-1 Man U win and a 1-1 tie in the other game.

Great start for Man U. A Ronaldo header off a corner was blocked up in the air by Dida and in trying to save it, he tipped it into the net. The official scorers are having some issues deciding who to give the goal to: Ronaldo or Dida.

EDIT: Man U is controlling the play and looking very good right now.
