They are solid. I think the US should be able to get chances off of set pieces with Gooch, Bradley or Boca. But they will have to be ready to defend the counter vs. Egypt.

 

Despite how brutal this group is, the US should be thankful to get exposed to 3 very different teams. We need this kind of training, and to see if the coaching staff can learn how to make adjustments.

I have a side bet going on this week with a coworker as to which number will be higher: the number of goals the USMNT scores in pool play, or the number of goals Spain allows in pool play. I have the US, because I think Spain may just shut out their pool.

I had a fear that he might still play for Germany prior to being cap tied, but that article pretty much abolished that. I'm looking forward to him playing, and it sounded like it could happen sooner if FIFA would hurry up.

gamecast is sucking. They said a couple of minutes ago there was an own goal by Bornstein, now that is gone and Donovan scored on a penalty with the score 1-0. Is it 1-1 or 1-0?
