In Euro 2008 news, Israel scored a 90th minute goal to beat Russisa which means England just need a tie agains Croatia to advance. Italy beat Scotland to move on as well.

Also in the 90th in minute. Cruel result for Scotland.

Not that cruel. Italy had a perfectly good goal disallowed in the first half and Scotland's goal was offside and shouldn't have counted. It's just sour grapes.

not that I wouldn't have liked to see Scotland qualify over the French, that is.

HAHA, Cletus got traded to the Galaxy for a 3rd round pick!

Gullit just had to have the dynamic Georgian. I love it.

Also, postpone that Altidore customized Real jersey order.

SBI Recants

The same day reports emerged from Spain linking Real Madrid to Red Bulls forward Jozy Altidore, Red Bulls officials made it clear that the 18-year-old sensation is not for sale.

"He's not going anywhere," Red Bulls president Marc deGrandpre said on Friday night. "I've talked to Jozy and he knows he's a very important part of our future."

The Red Bulls are eager to keep Altidore around as long as possible and the temptation of a large transfer fee isn't likely to sway a parent company that isn't struggling for money.

All I have to say about the US/South Africa game is that Bob Bradley is not a great tactician, and our style of play isn't going to work on a field that's as wide as a matchbox.

Seriously.

Seriously.

Especially without Landy stretching it.

Beasley disappeared and playing 3 defensive mids was a bad idea.

The other problem is the continual playing of your best offensive weapon out of position with his back constantly to goal, and no midfield support. I don't know why we need to have so many defensive mids on the field all the time.

I hate them now. If MLS could get somewhere along the line of 8-10 million for Jozy they better take it, and not just for the good of MLS but for the good of Jozy. He needs to be in Europe now!

Because our back line was getting boned and they were liking it.

Then we should stop playing scrubs like Califf, and only play 1 of Gooch or Bocanegra. How many liabilities can we fit in our back 4 at once?

Anyone ever go to an MLS game? Moving about 15 minutes from Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. Thinking about getting season tickets as they really are not too bad for 20 games. Figured the season tickets won't sell out any time soon too. Probably just get a package for a couple of games instead, but thinking about it.

I'd totally do it.

I want to, but my work schedule is a little funky, plus I am debating on rotating between FC Dallas, the Frisco Roughriders, and some Stars games. Not to mention squeezing in 1 or 2 indoor and outdoor leagues I am trying to get into. Also figured if I wanted to I could sell off the Beckham tickets to make half of my money back if need be  . They might not be as popular as Hannah Montana tickets but still he has yet to hit Dallas.

More news from Ives: MLS grandfathered in Ruiz, Eddie Johnson and most importantly Donovan's DP contracts so they don't count. Such a load. They just didn't want to split up the most marketable complimentary player on the most marketable team but they also don't have the economic stability to give everyone a second DP. So unfair. Oh well, I don't really care.

Secondly and most interestingly, those soccer loving officials at Fulham are trying to buy Michael Parkhurst to play along side Boca on the back line. I'd love that. Parkhurst is awesome and like Clint would take his game to the next level in England. Fulham desperately need the defensive help and intelligence he brings. Since he has an Irish passport he can go play immediately without the work permit rigmarole.

I was wondering how they would manage to do that.

Also, Ruiz is a bastard.

After that start, a comeback by England would be amazing. Also, Wayne Bridge is terrible

england is an embarassment.

OH LOL. I soapdropping hate England. I'm so glad they missed out.

i like england, but its almost comical how underperforming their national team is. i just want the best field at euro 2008, especially because espn will be showing all the games next summer.

i'm was just at 101greatgoals to check out the backpages of the english papers, pretty good stuff.

After England and Holland I don't really care about any other side. England miss out and Holland are playing like crap for the past couple of months. Euro 2008 is not looking good for me, but Holland should be able to turn it around.

Wow, nice going, England.

Beckham was class, though. I geniunely feel badly for him, as you have to believe he'd cut off his foot to win England a tournament.

i've only seen a few highlights of the match, but beckham's cross to crouch was fantastic. crouch was brilliant, perfect first touch, then finished great. too bad he had nobody else up front with him with all the injuries to owen and rooney.

I don't think anyone will ever question his heart. He has a knack for coming up big too. I'll never forget his goal against Greece in qualifying to put England in the 02 Cup considering I bought the match in PPV. The goal keeping was horrible yesterday, and McClarren has already been canned.

Poor volume

If we think the U of Michigan job is important, imagine whats going on right now across the pond.
