He's hearing footsteps, but he'll get used to it. After he meets Roy and DeMarcus...he won't be on the field.

I think people are really underrating the Bears. Fat man Jason Whitlock on PTI proclaimed the offense is terrible (I think the offense could be pretty solid) and that the Bears have a poor history of making the playoffs twice in a row. I'm getting more and more pumped about this season as it gets closer. They're gonna surprise all the naysayers again.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I would have had a problem with both of y'all. Being a Seahawk fan that is. However, as we all know all those great games between the Raiders, Broncos and the Seahawks are at an end. For the better? Probably, but I'll always remember some of those games. For example, soccer10k, do you remember the game when Bo Jackson went right through Brian Bosworth? Lord I hated that draft pick. I'll never know why the Seahawks picked him.

Now, back to your regular scheduled programming.

haha, funny you should mention that, i made a "the dugout" ripoff that mentions that, but i probably wont show it to anyone here in fear of getting flamed.

Footsteps? Who's near him, the ref?

He's just getting ready there...since he's on the Redskins now he'll really be hearing the footsteps.

Actually, I think ducking was a smart move there... He is (of course) a MAJOR numbskull for being off in la-la land and not knowing the ball was comin at him until the last instant. But if he knew he couldn't get his hands up in time to catch the ball, getting out of the way so the ball can fall harmlessly to the ground instead of deflecting up into the air off of his helmet or shoulderpad was some quick thinking. I mean the clip is funny now, but imagine how much more humiliating it woulda been if it bounced straight up off the crown of his helmet and the defense picked it and returned it for a TD...

Again, he is still most definetely an idiot, but IMO the duck was a good move.

As long as he knew there wasn't a DB behind him (which he might not know, given his inability to realize a football was coming to him). That'd also be amusing if he ducks and a DB is right there to pick it off.

I'm looking forward to college even more, but I can't wait for Carolina either. This could either be the best football season of my life by far or the most disappointing by far. I'm excited and scared at the same time.

Or it could be both. See: 2005 Indianapolis Colts.

I always like college football better. But I'm not sure if I'll make it to a PSU game this year. The stadium is just 3 miles down the road, but ticket prices are ludicrous these days. We're talking nearly $50 a seat. The Michigan game (which is primetime this year) has been sold out for weeks. I'm sure I could get a cheap ticket to the riveting Youngstown State showdown....

Bentley screamed, "No," before remaining on his knees as the Browns moved their scrimmage up the field so trainers could attend to the 6-foot-2, 309-pound player.

He stayed on the ground in a seated position for several minutes before Cleveland's medical staff immobilized his left knee and carted him to the locker room.

Really really crappy.

Yeah, that really sucks. I hope it's just a false alarm, or at worst a sprain. He's a great player. I am hoping the Browns can give a good fight to some of the other teams in that division----keep 'em down a notch if possible. I do think Crennel has them headed in the right direction, although they might be a little ways away yet.

Here's hoping for NO SERIOUS BEARS INJURIES.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Carolina Panthers All-Pro receiver Steve Smith was carted off the field Saturday with a hamstring injury on the opening day of training camp.

Midway through the afternoon session, Smith pulled up while running a long route down the left sideline. He immediately clutched his left hamstring, took a couple of steps and fell to the ground.

Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Somewhere in South Bend, ndistops is either crying hysterically or praying.

Yep. I feel for that guy. I was so looking forward to the seahawks beating them again this season so the talking heads would stop thinking that Panthers are better the then Seahawks. I don't get how the addition of Keyshawn makes a bigger difference then the addition of Julien Peterson in Seattle.

Oh great, I'm glad the injury bug is taking up residence in Charlotte for a third straight year. Kris Jenkins had a back injury too, I wonder if he'll miss the whole year for three years in a row.

I could very quickly get bitter about football.

Edit - Closer inspection of the article makes me less worried...Marty Hurney the GM said he's done this before in training camp. Smith's a tough-as-nails player and I'm not going to worry about this too much.

But if he gets hurt later this season I'm going to be pissed.
