i agree with shavo.

The Allmans may hold their own early, but Nirvana's 1-3-1 zone will be too much for Duane to handle.

Nirvana was a cancer to music. They shall FALL!

Nirvana saved us from a 1990/91 music scene that was dominated by C&C Music Factory, Snap and Amy Grant.

Question: What's the last thing that went through Kurt Cobain's head as he shot himself?

I find it odd that while the Beatles are so revered, Nirvana, who is also one of the most critically acclaimed bands of our lifetimes, gets bashed so repeatedly.

Personally, I'd rather listen to any Nirvana album than the best Beatles album.

Oh my. That is quite the statement.

I was referring to this poll as far as the Beatle-love and the Nirvana-hate - I should've made that a little clearer

Because the Beatles were unlike any band before or after. They constantly reinvented themselves and still stayed relevant.

Nirvana was an outcome of good timing and good music video. Bands like the Pixies, The Smiths, Sonic Youth, and even Nirvana's contemporaries like Pearl Jam or Sound Garden are much better musically and had they had Nirvana's timing/video/publicist/lead singer's charisma they would have been bigger.

Nirvana was an image that kids liked. Their songs aren't even that good.

I couldn't disagree more - and even if so the same could be said about the Beatles - their early popularity involved a lot of screaming teenagers IIRC.

The timing was right and the videos were good, but without the songs it wouldn't have mattered.
