Too bad I can't see this game. I have to gradaute, what a waste of time. :D

I actually didn't walk, I figured it was a waste of time. I watched the Cubs in a bar with some buddies.

I really like that lineup, especially with Nevin as pop off the bench. Although, I would actually move Jones up. But pretty close to perfect.

Imagine how much better our lineup will be once DLee comes back in a couple weeks.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I wonder if Dusty is even considering putting Womack in CF for a few games. I really just can't take much more of Pierre, especially leading off. Facing a lefty sometime might be a chance to go Womack in CF, Walker at 2B and Nevin at 1B (because I don't think Jones will sit against lefties for a while).

When would the retroactive date for Edmonds have been? It's a bit of a risky move by TLR and the Cardinals, in my opinion. If he hurts it even more, St. Louis would be in terrible shape.

I was thinking that too. I mean, they better be pretty sure he's up for it. This is not a big game for the Cardinals. So what if the Cubs get within 10.5 games. They need to be looking at the big picture (unlike the Cubs). It's a big gamble, IMO.

I never hope a player gets hurt, however....

I read too many posts/articles/conversations after the DLee/Wood/Prior injuries with fans happy he was out for a while. Too many Card fans were happy since Pujols was a lock for the batting title and MVP.

Here's hoping Edmonds destroys his back and Pujols languishes on the DL for the rest of the year.

Yeah, it really shouldn't mean that much to them. Houston is 2 games under .500. If I were them, I'd DL Edmonds and let that heal up 100%. His injury is definitely something that could get aggrevated by playing first base.

Jon, been meaning to say this before, but that is one awesome sig picture. I love that commercial.

Thanks. His head is too big and body too small, but it works.

never say never.

I think you have to come up and in a couple times to Edmonds to get him twisting out of the way. then drop the change on the outter half to get him lunging with his swing. make him work the injured abdominals.

I'd be just as worried (if not more) about him swinging the bat. I guess we'll see.

I wish Maddux could throw an ab-cruncher.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pierre and/or Womack drag a bunt up the first base line to start the game and test Edmonds.

I hope for an injury to Barry Bonds every day and have been for years. Although this year I don't really need a serious injury because any little injury could end his career.

when is the last time cubs swept cards at STL?

September 5-7, 2005, which was the last time the Cardinals were swept in a three game series at home.

The Cubs won this series, but lost game 1, 6-4.
