Anyone have any updates in Williamson? Looks like he pulled a Chad Fox at the end of the game.

If he goes down, the way Aardsma has been pitching, he can fill in nicely in the 6th inning role.

Agreed. If Aardsma continues to pitch as he has since being recalled, we'll have a very nice problem.

And I forgot to give props to Nevin for hgis first HR as Cubbie; it was a blast.

Phil Nevin absolutely launched that ball. *Man Love*

When Lee comes back Nevin needs to start somehow.

he needs to start now while he is even more needed.

I mean, even when Lee is back Nevin still needs to start. Probably in RF against leftys, despite Jock's current sexiness.

Right, I wouldn't look into platooning JUST yet. Not while Jaque is so hot. But this needs to be said. We have Nevin at 1B so we can have someone GOOD at 2B dustworthless!!

He will be a good DH to have during interleague games. And off the bench.

Does anyone else smell a HOT STREAK coming on?

No. We've won the series against the Cards, but then we'll revert back to suckiness. We can do well against the Cards, but not against crappy teams.

Same here. Right now I have the stance of. Wake me up when the Cubs are at .500 and playing .600 baseball and looking hot.

Well, ya gotta start somewhere. 4 out of 5 against Central teams is a start.

If I had to choose a starting point, it certainly wouldn't be dropping 14 of 17 to destroy the season before Summer even begins.

Nevin was almost giddy after the game.

"It almost felt like an Opening Day at-bat," Nevin said. "I haven't been nervous in a game in a long time and I had a little bit of that today."

Why?

"I don't know -- I keep looking down and seeing 'Chicago' [on his jersey] and it's pretty cool," he said.

He survived playing first base for only the second time all season. Nevin was primarily a designated hitter with the Rangers.

"I wouldn't say [it was like riding a bike] -- my body doesn't feel like that right now," he said. "It was fun. Everybody for the most part, except the last one, made great throws to me and made my job easy today.

"I felt a little more like a baseball player," he said.
