If every player from MLB to Single A was dumped into a pool, and a draft to pick new teams occured, who would be the top 10 picks in your opinion? If you want to do more than that, or all 30 teams, be my guest.

I don't think we have a player in the top 10. Maybe Lee is in the top 10/15.

So...when you pick them, you get them at their current contract status? So picking someone like Z you only get two years before he's FA (and he'll be expensive next year), but Verlander is yours for five more years?

I'm not sure about 2-10, but Pujols is #1.

Arod is 2, imo.

I think he is talking pure talent wise TO START a franchise. Not taking in account the contract status.

With that said this would bemy top 10:

Alex Rodriguez

Miguel Cabrera

Derek Jeter

Manny Ramirez

Albert Pujols

Roy Oswalt

Carlos Zambrano

Vladimir Guerrero

Carlos Beltran (yes, a surprise.....but still a productive 5 tool player)

I think you could make the case Cabrera should go number 1.

That depends on whether there is a cap. If you could spend as much as you wanted, Pujols and A-Rod would be ahead of Cabrera. But, have we seen the best of Cabrera yet?

I still like Wright over Cabrera.

But they're both in my top 10.

Jeter? Should he even be in the top 50? Even ignoring contracts?

Chase Utley and Rickie Weeks are great, cheap, young players at a very hard to fill position. Either would make a good pick.

Brandon Webb deserves consideration amongst the pitchers. I'd put Felix Hernandez in my 10 for certain. Liriano & Verlander look fantastic so far.

So far I've got the following as sure things:

Pujols

ARod (if my scouts say he can still play SS)

Wright

Cabrera

Felix

Johan

Eh, I would take Santana over Oswalt, who is 29.

I would also take Wright over Jeter, and move ARod back to short.

I would not take Manny, as he is 34.

Top 10:

Pujols

Cabrera

ARod

Santana

Z

Sizmore

Wright

Bay

Peavy

Mauer

With a line like that (and his girth), you stick him at 1B The others can fill in around him.

To clear things up, every contract is void and each pick will negotiate a new contract with their new team.

I gotta think Scott Kazmir would make such a list. For an outfielder to make it, they have to be something really special, and I don't think Beltran makes that grade.

In no particular order I would think the Top 10 would somewhat age dependent and would look like:

M. Cabrera

A. Pujols

D. Wright

A. Rodriguez

C. Utley

A. Jones

L. Milledge

F. Rodriguez

S. Kazmir

J. Santana
