Astros fans everywhere rejoice.

This isn't up anywhere right now. I checked espn.com, cnnsi.com, mlb.com, and astros.mlb.com.

http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/7749/clemens7iw.jpgOldLOL: Well, I do have something important to tell you.

http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/1061/showalterrang9bq.jpgShowalterTheDoor: Well, what is it?

http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/7749/clemens7iw.jpgOldLOL: I'm retiring.

http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/1061/showalterrang9bq.jpgShowalterTheDoor: Alright, well at least now we know yer done. That wasn't so hard now was it?

http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/7749/clemens7iw.jpgOldLOL: Yeah, I'm thinking I'll retire for my usual 3 months which would bring me back just in time for the All Star Game.

http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/1061/showalterrang9bq.jpgShowalterTheDoor: Aw *** damnit!

http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/7749/clemens7iw.jpgOldLOL: Yeah! That way I could solely be an All Star Game pitcher.

http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/1061/showalterrang9bq.jpgShowalterTheDoor: But ya got croaked in the All Star Game last year. The only reason ya got the nod was b'cause everyone thought ya were retarin.

http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/7749/clemens7iw.jpgOldLOL: Exactly! And they'll continue to think that until I'm dead! Hahaha the system works!

$3.5 million/month, lets say there are 27 or so games played in a month, he pitches 5 of those games, throws 95 pitches each start...

is my math right? He's going to be making almost $7400 per pitch?

ESPN Radio reporting same based on Newsday story.

Curses.

Then again, why am I upset? Its not like we are getting back into this thing.

Just think how much he'll be making IF he gets shelled in his starts.

So if Clemens hits a batter it would be a $7400 beanball.

The whole Clemens story is getting really old. Hope he pulls a Sammy this year by sucking badly and then quietly exiting the game forever.

Bye bye Wild Card... Maybe?

The dude hasnt pitched in a game since like the WBC... He hasnt gone through spring training... How will he do??

Clemens will help the Astros but im not sure they will make the playoffs. Lidge is having problems closing out games and their bullpen which was such a strong part of the team the past couple of years is not the same. Pettitte is struggling this year, Backe is on the DL, and Berkman is having knee problems.

The Astros' GM and Clemens' agent are completely denying this signing:

Contrary to Newsday, there is no agreement with the Astros," (Clemens' Agent) Hendricks said.

Don't want it to be official until the press conference, or was newsday wrong?

Wouldn't be the first time Newsday was wrong.

Yup. Same guys who said Prior was having TJS back in 04'.

Actually, I think that was a guy writing for the Newark Star Ledger.

EDIT: This isn't the article, however it does mention the previous article from the Newark Star Ledger. The NSL article was pulled from the site eventually if I recall correctly.

Clemens has a "legandary workout system" (ie similar intensity that Walter Payton had) so, when he comes back, it won't be that he is "rusty", is that he would need to get into game shap. Conditioning won't be a problem.

Hendry counteracts by signing free agent Enrique Wilson.

:D :D :D not bad he can sit on the bench with dick and neifi.....
