Hendry would screw up the fire sale so badly. He wouldn't understand that when trading your players, youre not supposed to be getting the Neifi Perez's and Glendon Rusch's of the league.

Or Baseball players, instead he'll aquire all the "toolsy" prospects who have a 100ft vertical leap and have 40 yrd dash time of .1 sec but, couldn't tell a ball from a strike if their collective lives depended upon it.

I guess Maddux still sucks afterall.

Yeah, somebody should have suggested that the Cubs sit Maddux at the end of last year and not let him reach that vesting option, so that they weren't dumping $9 million on a mediocre pitcher this year.

Except as long as Lee is gone, he's their excuse...

That's the real tragedy of Lee's injury... because the team would still suck if he was here... but they wouldn't have any excuses...

No, the real tragedy of Lee's injury is that one of the classiest players in the game will never get back to his superstar form after signing a bank-breaking contract that the organization he felt so close to will be regretting for years to come.

Sorry.

Sorry.

Lee's contract is only bank breaking if you're, say, the Brewers.

What teams are loaded with an abundance of young talent that will likely contend this year? Off the top of my head, the Dodgers jump out, but will Coletti ever make a fair deal with Hendry? The Angels are in the crapper right now. Are the D-Backs for real?

Yeah, if we'd have done that we'd probably be looking at 15 games over 500 right now.

I think we're probably another week away from the Axeman coming for someone... getting close though.

I think we could lose ever game up till DLee getting back and Dusty still gets 2-3 weeks with him until he gets canned.

By the way, my favorite part about this Cub collapse is the vast number of thread titles and posts that would normally be considered trolling, but instead is just Cub fans making fun of their own team.

I pray that you're wrong. :(

The absolute earliest anyone will be canned is the All-Star break.

I really wish the Pirates would start winning some games so that we could be the last place team we're playing like.

It's not even June yet, there's plenty of time to reach that dream.

Don't blame Neifi. He saved up last season, dude.

At least Perez is going to lead off the bottom of the ninth because Dusty, in all of his wisdom, put Neifi in the 2 spot today and hit Cedeno 8th.

Brilliant!

It has officially reached the commical stage.

Seriously, I knew we were losing that game as soon as the first guy got on in the 9th...at least Neifi made it more commical than I expected...2 errors while CATCHING A CUT OFF THROW....

Neifi, Rusch, Bynum, Womack, Blanco....At least 20% of our team would not be picked up by another team if given their unconditional release.

Let's not forget that Dumpster pitched like crap yet again. Yeah Neifi's play was terrible, but either way, the closer did blow the save.
