Winning streak! The Cubs are riding a 2-game winning streak as they enter the second game of 8 at home! It’s Dontrelle Willis (1-0, 2.92 ERA) vs Sean Marshall (1-0, 6.28 ERA). Let’s go Cubs!

Gametime temp should be in the low 40s with a windchill in the upper 30s. The wind will be blowing in from left at about 10 mph. Clear skies, though.

Noteworthy Match-ups (Chicago Cubs) Vs. Dontrelle Willis (1-0, with a 2.92 ERA in 2005)

I hope Barrett is playing... and Miller can somehow pinch-hit.

No current Marlin has ever faced Marshall. Great ole' ESPN doesnt even have a player page for him.

And, yes, I decided to bring them back.

I see Ramirez's career against Willis does not include one of my all time favorite memories of the Cubs- his grand slam in the first in game 4. Hopefully he can replicate it tomorrow. Go Cubs!

CUBS are 3-0 when the temperature is less than 45 degrees.

Go CUBS !!!

Fred, do you have Dontrelle's career statistics against the Cubs?

No, I only keep numbers on CUBS players.

Alright thanks. Looks like I'll do a little research on this.

Hm... So when you hit a home run in the post-season (when it really matters) it wont count against your career stats? Interesting.

It's the new Bears/Bucs, the Floridians can't possibly win in the cold unless Henry Burris is starting.

nope postseason stats don't count for career stats, in any sport that I'm aware of.

you've pointed that out several times, but I think sample size is a big issue. so he's had a couple of good games at Wrigley. no biggie. not enough to say it is a trend. he's been hit pretty well by the Cubs in Florida, a pitcher's paradise.

the field will have little to do with the outcome.

I'm just trying to add some balance to the idea that the Cubs hit him hard. He's actually had more successful starts against the Cubs than not. Even with that, I never claimed that he couldn't be beaten...

let's make it 3 in a row. Marshall has continued to get better and better starts every time he goes out. Let's hope tomorrow is his best outing yet. Hopefully the offense gets to the pitching a lot sooner than they did today as well.

Go Cubs!

Oh man Marshall's picture is awesome. It looks like his Mom is asking him to do the laundry or something.
