Come on Z. You could have done at least ONE thing right tonight

He's struck out NINE!!!!!!!

It's not about the strikeout. He's pitched poorly overall. I don't buy that this was a "quality start." He made some poor decisions on the mound and allowed himself to be beaten by their few good hitters (namely Cabrera).

Well then maybe you should go and redefine QS. Because he's had one. I didn't say he didn't make mistakes, but he's got a few.

Our offense needs to stop swinging at 1st pitches.

No, you said he struck out 9 as if that was a sign of quality. My point was that he made key mistakes that led to runs scored.

And isn't 6 innings, 3 ER considered a "quality start?" Or is it 7 innings?

Well I guess 6 inninges, 3 ER, and 10 K's isn't doing ANYTHING right according to Anemic Offense.

I think he should be more pissed about the correctness of his name, rather than Z's showing today.

It's one thing to say Z has made some mistakes, it's another to say he hasn't done anything right.

If you can honestly say you've been impressed with Z tonight I'd be shocked. Ks not withstanding.

Your standards are unrealistic. He's walked three and struck out 10.

Like Meat&Potatoes with Ronnie, I call out your anti-Z bias!

It's a quality start. 6 innings, 3 earned runs. I'll take it everytime.

So you're okay with Z consistetnly with a 4.5 ERA? I'm not, not from him.

There's a middle ground between being happy with the outing and being pissed off about it. No need to be upset with 6 IP 3 ER with the peripherals he has tonight.

Obviously I'd like him to do better, but it is not "poor."

he's struck out 10 and given up 3 ER. Quality start whether you buy it or not.

No bias against Z. I praise him when he does well but I can clearly see when he hasn't pitched well. Considering the circumstances, this wasn't a good outing. Like I said, he made poor decisions on the mound that directly led to runs.

Not consistently, but the offense has to pitch in a little too. I'm watching this Vargas kid and it's not the greatest stuff. We just aren't getting it done plate side.

I'd like a better start from Zambrano, but let's not call it a disaster.

It's not alwasy the how many, rather the situations in which you've done so. That is why stats can be extremely deceiving.
