Come on Z. You could have done at least ONE thing right tonight

He's struck out NINE!!!!!!!

It's not about the strikeout. He's pitched poorly overall. I don't buy that this was a "quality start." He made some poor decisions on the mound and allowed himself to be beaten by their few good hitters (namely Cabrera).

Well then maybe you should go and redefine QS. Because he's had one. I didn't say he didn't make mistakes, but he's got a few.

Our offense needs to stop swinging at 1st pitches.

No, you said he struck out 9 as if that was a sign of quality. My point was that he made key mistakes that led to runs scored.

he's struck out 10 and given up 3 ER. Quality start whether you buy it or not.

It doesn't matter what we call it, walking guys and giving up homeruns and doubles, right afterwards, isn't smart pitching. It's like he looses his concentration on the mound.

Like Meat&Potatoes with Ronnie, I call out your anti-Z bias!

It's a quality start. 6 innings, 3 earned runs. I'll take it everytime.

You'll take a 4.50 ERA out of your supposed #1 every time. You have low expectations for a guy that is supposed to be our stud.

He's not throwing strikes, we're just swinging at bad pitches.

I hope Baker is happy, his team is showing why being over aggressive like he wants is stupid.

He's been watching his teams do this for years & years. I somehow don't think he's getting the message :?

Maybe he didn't lose his concentration. Maybe he was beat by a good hitter.

How bout 7 innings, 3 ER, 11 ks? Still a "poor" outing?

Perfect? No. Poor? Of course not.

Ok, 3 runs. Fine, I can say that 3 runs is somewhat inexcuseable. But the Cubs have no offense. If someone wants to blame this loss, it should directly go to the offense. Not Carlos, ineffectiveness in the first 3 innings.

Holding your opponent to just 3 runs or less, it should have been a winnable game for the Cubs. Of course, it's the Cubs offense we're talking about, and it's the crappy left handed pitcher on the mound.

You see it however you want, but I'm pointing out the fact that the Cubs offense isn't doing jack-squat to support Zambrano. Again, 3 runs. There's no reason why the Cubs can't get themselves 3 runs. The problem is they're just swining at first-pitches, striking out, etc.

This guy can barely locate the plate on a map and this team has only had two runners in scoring position all night. The offensive philosophy of this team is absolutely and completely embarasssing.

I'll take that, 7 innings 3 runs is quite acceptable. I hope Dusty's saving of the Bullpen doesn't wind up backfiring and Z becomes susceptible to an injury.
