Alou raked, but couldn't play D or run the bases. Jones can play D, can't get on base, but is fairly adept on the basepaths.

Im just remembering all the DP Alou grounded into, JJ is like 1/4 of the hitter Alou was.

I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Jones get 2 hits in one night. Unfortunately, he hasn't had one since. Or before that for that matter. Wow, he's bad.

 

I don't think the hit and run with a guy who is struggling is that bad. forces him to concentrate and make some contact.

Alou's bat was pretty good for the last year and a half of his contract, but before that he was extremely unimpressive.
