They sent down Wuertz? What the heck would they do that for?

Seriously, are they going to call up Rohlicek because Ohman blew up the last two games?

Novoa isn't bad, but it's a shortsighted move.

wuertz is having some command issues. I think its good to let him go get it together at Iowa.

I think the organization's perception is that Novoa would have made the team out of ST if it wasn't for his illness (not his fault). Wuertz just threw like crap from day one.

Wuertz should have been working out his issues in Iowa out of ST anyway. It's not like he's going to stay there forever if he figures it out.

Wuertz is a bullpen arm. He threw 15 pitches yesterday, after not pitching for the 2 previous games.

Wuertz tossed a gas can on the Cubs' 8-2 lead last night. He's clearly not in major league form right now.

Russ was released.

Bah. Fixed.

Besides Jimmy Rollins, who are the other NL SS's competing with Ronny for an All-Star spot? He could get more media coverage than Felipe Lopez if the Cubs stay hot into the summer and the Reds falter.

Jack Wilson (Maybe), Rafael Furcal, and Edgar Renteria.

Ohman was even worse the other day, then had another bad outing.

Wuertz was fine in his previous outings.

Again, shortsighted.

They needed a bullpen arm and couldn't afford to send down a bat with Jones out.

But they'll likely need a guy who can go today and tomorrow with Williams and Rusch starting. The bullpen is down from 7 pitchers to 6 and they're not well-rested.

Wouldn't have been in this situation if Dusty let Marshall pitch the 6th.

I swear Novoa had a 2 inning outing in the past day or two.

Also, Jimmy Fallon needs to get off my TV.

Ohman can't be sent down without clearing waivers first. Wuertz can and so when a bullpen arm needs to be exchanged for a fresh one, Wuertz and Novoa will be the ones shuttled back and forth for now.
