Um...not to alarm anyone...but all of a sudden Rusch is getting ground outs.....

Yeah, after the damage has been done.

True, but 4 runs is not impossible to come back against. Better that than 6 or 7...

Glendon's performance here would be a likely argument against using WHIP alone to judge a pitchers performance and important advocate in using HR/9 in conjunction with WHIP.

1.00 WHIP

Somehow I get the feeling I'm not going to bother watching this one on TiVo.

you don't dig the long ball?

Well, you'll get to see some good footage of the new bleachers.

i'm not sure anyone was using whip alone to judge a pitcher's performance in the first place

Yes, Rusch didn't pitch well, and probably shouldnt be in the rotation, but 4 run in 5 innings isn't as bad as it could have been. It was also better than Marshall's 4 runs in 4.3 innings. Not saying that to put down Marshall or anything, because I think he actually pitched well, just saying it could have been a lot worse and we still got a chance to come back in this one. Rusch should be out of the roation though.

WOW! a HR free inning! Thats at least one more inning of Rusch for us then!

97 pitches. It's doubtful he goes more. Good day to get Wuertz and Williams in the game for 2 innings each.

Grand Slam this inning! I'm calling it!

If there is a grand slam by a Cubs hitter this inning, I'll buy you a free month of premium.

I'll buy the rest of the year.

I don't take any solace in that it could have been worse.

That was Marshall's first MLB game though! Not exactly the stick we should measure Rusch up against.
